you can weld rpond bar on each side of the wheel similary to the bead of the rum and the add one in the midle and the on top of that all use the angle iron. it should help with the ground clearance

i was just kidding. besides, people in the US south do the same thing. Maybe you could use solid forklift tires, you know, the knobby ones. They are non-pnuematic, therefore it doesn't matter what you run over, plus the added benefit of more traction. How old were you guys when you did this anyway?

Traction from old winter snow tires works well. Snow chains are bad...when they do break, do damage.

We do the same thing to cars back home in Virginia. Its called rooting. And we do it drinking beer.
