  • wait, so you painted che, then covered it with white stickers, then you wrote the quote a bunch of times, and took off the stickers? Man, i could do that, what happened to ur awesomeness :(

  • @LUMfulmetal the idea is awesome

  • Whether Che loved art or not is beside the point...it's art. Stop whining.

  • my favorite one.

  • word? that is a sick ass painting, If only that was on a capital building....='(

  • awsome

  • libertarian bullshit... Stop being an apologist for the financial vultures.....

  • Che borned and lived in Rosario, my city.

He is a idol for me and the argentines

that's why I love this painting

forgiveness for my english, it´s bad!

  • Che hated artists

  • @jeffmagic32 he himself was a keen photographer

  • he was also keen on killing anybody who dared to play jazz music

  • that sounds rediculous, why would be keen on killing somebody who plays jazz. that sounds like fantasy

  • he believed a lot of ridiculous things

  • I agree with you that some of his beliefs were a bit off. But i think overall, fighting oppression and big business is a noble cause, obviously he has become demonized by those very same people

  • @jeffmagic32

Fine artists? Like painters and stuff?

  • Viva la Phil!

  • Interesting how in one work of art he uses the names of the dead coalition soldiers who went to fight a dictator who had for decades tortured & deprived his peoples of their human rights to make a picture of Bush, but here he uses a philosophic quote from a man who tortured & killed hundreds if not thousands of people who got in his &/or Castro's way. Either way cool art.

  • Che was a douche bag

  • GIVE PROPS

  • woah that looked simple, yet really awesome ^^

  • where did you get that stencil from

  • That was amazing. But did u get that stencil off the internet or make it urself?

  • HataPolisen112 Che wasn`t nazi

  • For those of you who do not know, Che is Che Guevara, and Argentinian revolutionary. That was one of his many quotes. I am Argentinian and whenever something relating to there is used in art I get all exited. When I saw the quote and then saw the painting when he first started I could only but burst into joy. Not only does he make great art, but he includes great things into his art.

  • great stuff phil

  • negative space is always fun! Great job Mr. Phil. I really dig your newest stuff (GENIUS).

  • y do i keep getting thumbs down?? i just said that i did something similar to the thing phil maid, and that deserves thumbs down?

  • wtf, y did i get thumbs down for saying that?

  • brilliant idea and amazing picture.

  • His writing the quote at the start of the vid..... His art rocks.... I love it....

  • what is he writing in here?

  • Words that do not match deeds are unimportant.

    That's what he's writing.

  • AWSUM!

  • Very good job.

  • nice job but che was not anybody to look up to he killed many innocent people

    but Good Job!

  • I really love this one. It's definitely one of my favorite pieces of yours. :)

  • Wow, I like how all of this arguing is basically the opposite of what this painting was made for......

  • HAHAHAHAHHAHA! I love how people fight in comments. You're all stupid.

  • lol youre such an idiot, one who is against che and communism you automatically assume they are republicans and bush fans? you little sheep you should turn off the tv and think for yourself sometime. try it , it actually works

  • NO U

  • what did you say goober? go back to pen spinning

  • You are an idiot not knowing what he is talking about...

  • I agree, Che was not supposed to be famous or anything, he wanted the exact opposite. He wanted everyone to be equal.

  • awesome, im trying to do this piece but with colin mcrae for my Hw hope it comes out good

  • hasta la victoria siempe!

  • he is QUOTING che, not dedicating those words to him. maybe YOU should have studied che more before coming to phil with your accusations.

    GREAT work phil

i find your work truly inspiring and it just thrills me that someone out there can and IS doing what i wish i was able to do. but it takes practice ;)

thanks a lot phil, keep it up man

  • CHE = muerto

  • nice :P

  • i didn't know economic systems kill people... and i didn't know it was spelled kommunism

  • Good work. However, it's ironic that the dictatorship that Che Guevara helped implement in Cuba would never allow politcally charged art such as this.

  • you'll never know. austin

  • What the fuck is 'komunism'?

    Are you talking about 'communism'?

Learn to spell before trying to make a point, and then people might be able to take you seriously.

  • when you learn to read and speak fluently a language completely different from the one you were raised with, making absolutely zero mistakes, you can criticize others the way you have here.

    until then, though, tant pis.

  • your best work

  • Brilliant work Phil.

  • wow~

i know that guy!! isnt he a free-fighter?

    DANM, best artist ive known..

  • Viva el che guevara

  • *SUBSCRIBES*

I don't even really like art but this guy is amazing!

  • WOW absolutely BRILLIANT!! LOVE ALL UR WORKS!!!!!

  • wow

  • very nice man.. what is the name of this song that is being played?? does anyone know??

  • Viva el Che guevara!!!. IMPERIALISTAS HIJOS DE PUTA. El Che, la maxima expresion de un guerrillero ejemplar, simbolo de la juventud revolucionaria en el mundo.

  • Free of speech is a beautiful thing, eh? Under the order of Che you would have no such thing, or freedom of religion, or of the market, and expression goes unsaid but keep feeling passionate about something, god knows that it something most people will never have.

  • under the order of che I wouldn' t need to. you are USA garbage.

  • You wouldn't need too? I suppose you would never in your life or the life of your children or their children dissent from their government? I am USA garage? YOU ARE GODDAMN RIGHT, my government has not always been right but they kept communism in check. WHY AREN'T YOU IN N. KOREA SIR? OR CUBA? OR CHINA? Why in the U.S.? Don't say money, because that would be materialist, and consumeristic against the communist code? Answer.

  • why in the Us, cuase my freaking dad, brought to your stinking country, and yes asuppose im here for the money, but thats a reality isnt we all need it, but that is not going to overcome my ideals, never. Im not a communist but very loyal to che's thoughts, and to the true che I think of, and not what you read in some american book or seen in some anticommunist show.

  • Your ideals? Che stood for NO free thought. Is free thought not an Ideal? How old are you? Che stood for free thought as long as it was HIS. Here is the difference... In the U.S. I can walk into any Barne N Nobles and find a dozen books defending Che, and I can find a dozen criticising him. According to Che ideals, as your own apparently, that does not exist. I know more about this man than most, and quite possibly you.

  • jajajaja, you quite a character, okay you think you know fine, just keep writing forever, i got better things to do mr know it all

  • Honestly, I hope you are just going through a rebellious stage.

  • not really, everything is pretty clear nowadays. You dont have to be a politician to realize that everything is controled by politics.

  • HUH?

  • Bush is the "L E A D E R" of that invasion. okay how does he not get involve in all that cowardly invasion. You were talkin about politics leader. well che was one, so is castro, chavez, KENNEDY, ans bush

  • and they were all behind these killing, some of them very well kept in secret, or lost in the media like a minor event, that happens everyday

  • but che was different he could ve stay there in cuba or in some place else, but he'd rather dies fighting against imperialism, He died with hes eyes open.

  • HUH?

  • well you know in every war, if theres not blood included is not a war. He just did what he had to. If killed more, or less, that doesnt matter, is a destiny youre taking when becoming a revolucionary, but in fact, Che was never that of communist, He just loved travelling here and there meeting new places. He just comfronted a cruel reality, that came by the hands of the imperialism.

  • Nice speach

  • No you are diverting the topic, my quarrel is with communism and Che has come to represent it, yes he was a communist. Bush does not represent democracy, but that does bring a valid point... in democracy things may be corrected. Bush has caused much damage and death but there are term limits and elections so he is out, no communist country in the world allows such things.

  • A man that would take the life of another for his thoughts is the true garbage.

  • yeah like most leaders never had done even today, (BUSH GENOCIDE) jejeje

  • What does Bush have to do with anything? I voted against him, before the invasion of Iraq I protested, I despise the man but in this matter he is irrelevant.

  • felicidades!! go: esquizofrenia hugo bejarano

  • Funny in that Che has death squads running around.

  • yeah. wytkracka, I know what goes on in society, I understand that there are flaws with all nations, and can be seen throughout history. I understand these things, and accept that i don't know everything.

I never said you were wrong with the whole AID's thing. What I stated was that I am human, I don't know everything there is to know, and that need to do a bit more research on that ONE PARTICULAR aspect before I make an unintelligent comment on it.

  • sorry, slotho, that wasn't to you but someone else claiming aids didn't exist while che was running his concentration camps, apparently you posted your comment while i was typing that one.

  • wytkracka, AIDS did not exist until 1981. Prior to that it was known as GRID. The first known case of HIV was a Bantu man in 1959.

  • "please, no culture is known better for propaganda and censorship than the communist and marxist regimes you fetishize."

And all your information comes through a media that exists in a capitalist country.

I'm not a communist or marxist. I'm a capitalist of the diverse marketplace type. I believe that investment in programs like socialized medicine and a strong equal educational system is an investment in America's future. A healthy, well-educated populace gives us a strong citizenry.

  • a capitalist country where the constitution states the government cannot influence the media.

  • Strange that the comment I'm trying to post about Fox and Monsanto won't post

  • so, wait, some guy at the cdc just said "AIDS" and BAM! a virus appeared? If i change my name to fauntelroy mcbutterpants next monday then i wouldn't have existed until sept 3 2007? Now you're just arguing semantics.

  • no, AIDS are a more serious form that develops once you get HIVS. Which are actually believed to have been from the monkeys, so that means someone got freaky with a monkey. sick

well, i least that what i was told, but then again i have taught myself not to believe anything, ANYONE says so, yea, thats just me.

  • no, aids is a syndrome developed after contracting hiv, people with aids have hiv, but not everyone with hiv has aids, inmore commonplace usage, however aids has come to mean both the syndrome and the virus.

however, in the area it is believed to have originated, it is commonplace to eat primates, and most likely was transferred to humans when someone cut themselves while butchering/preparing munkymeets

  • i think ill go with you on that..

nice art work by the way, philinthecircle.

  • dear god i hope they weren't desperate enough to screw monkeys, i don't care how enticing those baboon asses are. and you're right, nice technique, even if he knew nothing about his subject matter.

  • Sorry Wyt, I only read one sentence and responded, I apologise.

  • No that means that Salk and Keirposki when developing the polio vaccine gave the unknown retro virus to unsuspecting people in very poor parts of the world.

I guess they needed a testing ground.

Red the constant Gardner it tells a simular story that is based on this premise

  • that's "one of the earliest cases was ", documentation is so spotty they can only narrow it down to a few seperate cases from the congo to haiti to manhattan in 1959, and now you're just arguing semantics. if i change my name monday to fauntelroy mcbutterpants does that mean i didn't exist this week?

  • oh wait, now it posts twice, sorry. ok, let's remove the name from the statement, whether it be grid, hiv, aids, cooties, "che imprisoned and executed people for having a disease".

  • Looks like Youtube can't keep up with our posts.

I'm trying find a website that confirms your statement about Che's camps and AIDS victims. All I'm finding is site that refer to "He founded Cuba's "labor camp" system—the system that was eventually employed to incarcerate gays, dissidents, and AIDS victims."

Eventually being the operative term. I can confirm this use in Castro's time, but not attribute it to Che.

  • "la cabana" with the accent over the n was the prison and execution block castro put him in charge of, his labor camp chain started with guanhacibes or something like that, though at this point he orchestrated their functions more in a executive role rather than hands on so he could over see many camps at one time.

  • sorry, yeah, thanks samuryjak. I didn't catch that aids thing. I've never heard that before. I admit that I don't know everything.

  • Everything is perspective and point of view.

Lincoln fought a war to preserve the Union, and would have left the slaves in chains if that's what it took.

Rosa Parks was tired, not a revolutionary.

    G. W. Bush may be remembered as a hero who rescued us from terror, or as a fascist who got people killed for no good reason.

All history is propaganda, written by the winners.

I do love this man's art.

  • This who conversation isn't really about Che at all, its one of those 'I'm right, your wrong' situations.

Just appreciate the art for what it truly is (genius) and if you want to form an opinion, the base it off of some god damn facts. Find something, anything, that isn't just an opinion.

  • True!! this is art. And in this topic no one is wrong and no one is right. It depends on your perspective.

  • i'm always right

  • Oh, and Silatk, your right in that Democracy doesn't exist in the US. We have a republic, NOT a democracy. But the truth is that, though he WAS a revolutionary, Che was also a terrible person, to him HE was the true revolutionary, but that's just egotistical.

  • A republic is goverment elected by the people of the people and for the people. This can be defined as democracy. What did Che do in central america that had the CIA watching him? US

  • a republic is government where the people elect representatives to, well, represent their interests when concerning the passing of laws and other functions of government, the central feature being "rule of law". Democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where no governmental decision is made without every citizen having a direct say in it's execution. it's etymolygy being "demokratia" meaning mob, and "kratos" meaning rule.

  • you have all just been informed true words from a true learned person.

I am a cuban and I hate Che. The man committed genocide for christ's sake

wytkraka, you know what your saying.

The truth is, stop following a trend, stop listening to what other's tell you to be the truth, and find out for your own god damned self by picking up a f**king history book.

Che was a bastard. Simple as that.

  • A Cuban who lives in the US ? Interesting. Death camps have existed everywhere. A way to stablish your ideas and fear. WWII Nazi-japanese camps, serbia, etc.

Kill the sick? has existed throguth history. Even today that gets done. isolate them son they cant feed themselves. Come on say something new!!!! Yes Che was harsh! yes he killed. Many liders have and still do today.

  • Great art and still love it. Just perfect with controversy. That is part of art.

  • let's see, marxist, architect of the cuban labor camp, homophobe, jumped borders and changed allegiances at whim to participate in every slaughter he could, led false "revolutions" such as bolivia's yet didn't include a single bolivian, praised as a dissident and champion of freedom, yet killed and imprisoned any dissident that wanted freedom from his marxist delusions,

  • ran a true toruture prison and later a labor camp (one you detractors of GTMO and Abu Ghraib would do well to look into) of holocaust-like qualities, in which he executed children, journalists, and some people for no more reason than being christian, yet you gits celebrate him as a champion of freedom, devoted his life to taking people's live, property, and free will yet you dumbasses herald him as champion of the "little guy".

  • There is a difference however, Bush has term limits, Bush can be partially domesticated. If Bush succeeded in injustice that is the fault of the people, there is no communist government were you could claim the same. Simple mind, no heart.

  • mutilator, murderer, and rapist of gays, aids victims, catholics, jehovah's witnesses, afro-cubans (in other words blacks) yet you fawn all over him. his system of commerce brought cuba from one of latin america's most productive and profitable nations into one which rations milk,

  • and his land reform took land and businesses away from the rich, but gave it to his friends and allies instead of the peasants, yet you praise him to be robin hood. his guerilla resume is full of defeats, yet you praise him as a military genius. what a bunch of idiots.

  • AIDS wasn't around when Che did his thing

  • and you just lost what little credibility you had with that statement, HIV wasn't recognized and classified by the cdc until 1981, but the earliest cases have been retroactively diagnosed as far back as the 1959, and the virus was believed to have mutated to a human affecting virulent during the french colonial period of cameroon, which was from ww1 to 1960

  • yeah...and dude, I'm only 16. I am still learning here. If you have something to teach me, then by all means, do so.

  • slotho, Get as much info as you can, pro and con, right and left. Listen to what the message is, not who the messenger is. Look for those who start dialog, not those who try to "win" an argument with personal attack.

  • *architect of the cuban labor system

  • let me guess you read and saw all this from CNN ans some capitalist book. Go to Cuba talk to Cubans!! Not Cubans who live in Miami who hate Castro because they cannot get jeans or a new car.

  • lol, please tell us, enrique, where do you get your plethora of information from? (for you have surely outdone me here) "go to cuba and talk to cubans"? lol, so they can repeat the drivel spewed by castro's ministry of information? yeah, cuz they never have to deal with censorship there.

  • Or perhaps locked in jail because they had the audacity to dissent? Or practice their faith freely? Or express themselves in any way shape or form? Let me ask you... why are you in the States?

  • I really liked that one.

  • great work dude@!

    viva che

    and now i want this on a t-shirt :$

  • lol, great idea, grm, "capitalism sucks! can i buy that from you?"

  • Good Job man... iam from Argentina and is a honor see you work like tribute... THANX!!!!

    CHE´s NOT DEAD NO!

  • if anyone asks you to make this into a shirt, and if you let a company make said shirt...let me know i would definetly buy one!

  • wow

  • LULZ CHE GUEVARA, I DON'T KNOW WHO HE IS OR WHAT HE DID BUT HE SURE IS COOL.

    ugh...

  • lol best comment here

  • why thank you :D

  • amazing!!bravoooo!!

  • Great of a man who truely died defending his ideas!!

  • this should be on a t-shirt

it would totally top any che guevara t-shirt made thus far

  • lindo...

  • you are the next picasso

  • Hello I am from Portugal. I am amazed not only by the artistic techniques u use and the beauty on the forms they can produce, but above all for your commitment to your art bringing it to another level of significance. About the themes you use, I appreciate the freedom you enjoy as an artist, and I hope you can remain always brilliant.

  • It would be kind of funny and ironic if you did a piece about the terrorists who are actually responsible for the deaths of the soldiers in your Bush piece. They would cut off your head and they could call it "Bust of a Jackass".

  • wtf!!

  • Che was a beast

  • who is che anyways but iv seen that pic somewhere befor

  • he was an asshole who was executed by the bolivian police on 1967...he worked with Fidel Castro.

  • Che ideals not Castro's nor communism threaten the Capitalist world. Reason why the CIA had him executed!

  • phil thanks for my new obsession..your art...my new lifes goal is to obtain an origianl piece.

  • Fantastic !!! very cool...

  • so COOL

  • why is everyone arguing about communism? just enjoy the art.

  • because this art work......represents communism!

  • Try to understand communism but first visit Cuba. See what you think afterwards. Go by what you see there not what you see on the US news.

  • Silatk... I really don't want to talk politics on this page but are you Cuban? I'm not, but I live in S. Florida and know many Cubans, I have never heard a good word be spoken regarding Castro.

  • Che and Castro are two separate idiologies. CAstro change and Che didn't. Che stands for styaing strong with your ideals. that is all no politics. I know people that live in cuba. They hate the US!!

  • big deal i know people that are from cube, they hate cuba.

  • *cuba, duhr

  • You said it! They are from Cuba but they do not live in Cuba. dont believe everything CNN or Capitalist books tell you. I would tell you to read more about democracy but there is no such thing as Democracy. Not at least in this country.

  • please, no culture is known better for propaganda and censorship than the communist and marxist regimes you fetishize.

  • There is a popular saying; "Communism is good on paper, but horrible in practice", that is absolute nonsense. Communism is a wrenched sheep like ideology on paper, and a wrenched oppressive sheeplike ideology in practice. Enjoy your freedom of speech sir.

  • Sil, you opening state your frustation with the U.S. gov. and you live in the U.S.. In Cuba there is no such thing, without prison. Are you a religious man? In Cuba, your faith is to be only partially practiced. To you enjoy venturing freely? Not in Cuba, your movement is restricted to areas not inhibited by tourists. Those people who do not "live" in Cuba but are from Cuba, risked their lives to be here, for no reason? Abandoning paradise? At the risk of your own life?
