you see how on CNN they don't tell the American people the actual city in Scotland where the attack took place. They just say 'scotland'.
That's like a terrorist attack in the USA and on tv here they just say 'USA'. I'd wanna know where in the USA!
But then again, I guess the only British city the average american has heard of is London, so the fact that this incident took place in Glasgow (scotlands largest city and the UK's 3rd largest city) means americans would have no idea where it is.
Had these bombs gone off many people would have been killed. It is frightening to think their are people capable and willing to do these things. But i don't think that calling them "pathetic" or "laughable" is going to help anyones cause really.

Would we really prefer that they were as successful or as dramatic as terrorists in the past? Of course not. I'm quite pleased that these terrorists screwed up so massively. We probably shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth. This falls in the same cetegory as the shoe bomber fiasco.
Calling them "incompetent" is merely descriptive and not pejorative. It doesn't express a preference one way or the other about wanting them to succeed. It's just a fact about their ability to accomplish their intended result.
