It seems that everyone is missing a huge point, and that's that the unique of Yes and the spirit of the band is in the original members, I mean no one would dream of a Rolling Stones without Mick Jagger? it goes far beyond having a guy that can sing the songs, it's about the spirit, and some people are irreplaceable, that meaning Jon Anderson.
Take it easy Doris! I understand disappointment in Jon's absence. We all want more of the past. I got to rehearse with Chris, Alan, and Benoit back in October, while Steve was away. It's (sorry guys), somewhat entertaining reading what gets written by fans who are really just guessing at what actually goes on inside Yes. Benoit is a good guy. I also found Chris and Alan to be pretty real too. I would go for the music no matter who, if it's done well. Someday, that's all we'll have anyway
Of course I miss Jon badly, but Jesus!Benoit does a hell of a good job,and YES he sounds amazingly like Jon ,As for Oliver,he sure makes his Dad proud.
anyway don't worry I don't think to buy tickets to see their "in the present tour".
that could happening, instead, if trevor rabin would replace steve howe.
and then...now I would be too afraid to be replaced with a toilet (even if a sparkling one)while watching yes with steve howe..I would ,rather,go speaking with my family members questioning them if they think I am boring, old and easily replaceble.

How very sad that Steve Howe and Chris Squire, once great musicians possessed of an incandescent creative energy that propelled them to great artistic achievements, have now descended the depths of mediocrity and self-parody to become leaders of a tribute band that pretends that it is the once great band known as YES!
If one were to lend any credence (and I certainly don't) to statements that have been recently made by Steve Howe, he would have gullible Yes fans believe that Yes is but a state of mind, and thus its music is so cosmic in its scope that it cannot be associated with any one of the original members of the band.
Of course, the reason why Steve was spouting that idiotic nonsense is because he was attempting to justify the despicable manner in which he and Squire stabbed Jon Anderson in the back!
You are exactly the sort of gullible idiot that Steve Howe desperately hopes will buy tickets to see him play with his Yes tribute band, as they perform on their "In the Present" tour.
With any luck, whilst you're watching Steve perform, someone (perhaps one of your family members) will decide to have boring, old, original you replaced with a sparkling, brand new TOILET!
I was at this show and there was plenty of action going on. Steve was on fire and all over the stage, I haven't seem him perform like this since the late 70s. Does it really make a difference if someone is fat, old if they can still perform the same and with better instruments? Mohegan was a great show!
No arguement here. We all get old eventually if we survive long enough. I think they put on an exellent show. I'm not terribly concerned with their weight and hairline.
Come on! I have been a LOYAL FAN for 40 years! This is the best PRB to ever play. They play because they love to play for their fans! I am sorry about Jon. He is a Yes icon! He is sick. This is a dream for Benoit. He is NOT taking Jons place. Yes is getting older. They want to play. I LOVE Yes music, so I will be attending tonights show in St. Louis! I wish Jon a speedy recovery. True Yes fans love him. We also LOVE Yes music. I will not pass up a chance to see them. Give Benoit some credit!
It's quite one thing to be a fan and maintain a deep, critical appreciation for the achievements of creative persons.
However, your comment (which is very similar to comments posted by others) makes it quite clear that, beyond mere critical appreciation for the artistic achievements of Yes, you are possessed of an extreme, irrational, unreasoning, and most uncritical devotion for the members of Yes and anything that they produce; all of which makes you not a fan but a FANATIC!
It's true B.D.sounds a lot like J.A. Oliver Wakeman learned pretty much note by note what his dad recorded...the rest of Yes has good judgement and that was expected...
Think about it. In all actuality, YES can continue for dozens of years with the next generation. I think Howe's son plays drum and or guitar. I don't know about Squire kids. BUT Chris is extremely bloated and my nurse wife think he may have some medical issues. His hand were swollen like a giant. They were huge from my seat.

I do think great music is not strictly associated with its creator.
take bach and beethoven, thank God there are millions of people in the world playing their music, music is ethereal,is not physical.
I have seen "the aussie pink floyd" and the original floyd and I think the former is better.
I wanna listen to the music,I'm not interested to see the original members who are often fat,old and with no more any spark in them.
