  • The Mighty Sparrow must have used this to inspire him in writing " Miss Mary" ?

  • I'd been looking for a copy of Edmundo Ros CD "Silk and Latin" for quite a long time. The last time I heard it was during the 70's. The LP featured Ms. Caterina Valente. How would you like to featured its songs? Thanks. A different latin american music interpretation....thanks.

  • @spiderman4761 "SILK AND LATIN" is avaliable on cd ,it was released as " Nothing But Aces/Latin Melodies Old and New" which was the original English Decca title (Nothing but aces) . It is avaliable fairly cheaply from Amazon.co.uk The other title (there are two albums on one disc) "Latin melodies old and new " is a phase 4 instrumental album , the remastering is superb and it is on the Vocallion label. He made two albums with Caterina Valente and both are brilliant .

  • It is actually a calypso, do a bit of research and check out the difference between calypso and samba. great song though.

  • @MrDeanMartin . The Title of the Calypso is " Sing a Simple Calypso" , composed and sung by Lord Blakie from Trinidad and Tobago.

  • @SuperSnk1 . Edmundo Ros was also born in Trinidad.

  • its just a real calypso. Nothing of samba!
