  • EXTRA! EXTRA!

"Superman: Why Does He Hate Doors?"

    A Daily Planet Exclusive!

    by Clark Kent

  • Still my favorite Superman.

  • Kool aid man has some competition lol

  • Even though the movies and later TV shows had much better special affects, George Reeves is and will always be the best Superman.

  • anyone else think that while other actors were good, only George made Supes look like a badass

  • he made it look so easy!

  • No one will ever play the role of Superman as well as George Reeves did! He was one of the finest actors to have ever lived!

  • smashing video just smashing

  • Lol Superman doing his HULK impression!

  • he looks like a big accountant ;D

  • That is Great !

  • I never knew George Reeves as Superman. It was always Christopher Reeve for me. But these entrances were pretty good. Cheezy, but good!

  • that was great. 0:30 was the best, he came busting thru that one.

  • That poor cabin.. they rebuild it and he keeps busting in the walls.. has anybody ever taught Kryptonians how to use doors??

  • 0:09 Oh NO!!! That ...cough cough...cheap but defective Chinese drywall was contaminated with kryptonite!!!!!

  • most of the actors in the show were solid pros with many years in the film industry, they had class.

  • Wonder if he ever had to pay for the wall repairs??..."Thanks for saving us dude...but...uhh...we haven't got any money to fix this gaping hole in the wall...."

  • Gee, I missed a lot watching Superman on an old black and white TV.

  • geez, now I gotta fix another wall #@%&

  • can anyone get me the making of this series?

  • That music made me tingle all over...when I was little, that is.

  • Awesome... This was better than Superman Returns haha

  • Geo was the best!!!! Plain and simple.

  • GREAT

  • The color on seasons 3-6 looks more spectacular here than on the DVDs. If Warner Brothers restored the original Technicolor prints for blue-ray, they would look SuperB.

  • lol i laughed at 0:50

  • Reeves version of Superman was the best. He played the way it should have been and he played Clark kent with some realitiy, not as a dumb fool as other over played it.

  • Absolutely smashing .

  • I'm a George Reeves fan. I love and have every episode on DVD which I bought on EBay . Great stuff.

  • Simply the best.

  • uSE THE DOOR!!!!

  • I remember begging my parents to get this new thing called cable TV because an out of area channel (KTXL 40) played 'The Adventures of Superman!

I lived for this show growing up. I got the chance to meet Noel Neil a couple times.

What an outstanding lady! She's still alive and kicking!

  • The great enemy of Superman. The Door.

  • If Superman has X-ray vision, why does he have to stop and look around first to find what he's after? He'd just bust through the obstacle and keep going.

  • door !!!!!! use the damed door !!

  • -LOL who needs doors...

  • 0:44 there was a door right beside you, Superman.

  • I just wonder..

Who the hell pays for all that damage? xD

    like 0:30 xD

It's an open space, why not fly over the wall?

nah, lets just smash the freaking thing xD

  • there are a few actors of today who prefer to do their own stunts. Very few!

George Reeves was a rare blue, yellow and red bird that did His own.

  • That was Super Man! all that is missing is spinach, oh wait, that's Popeye!

  • George Reeves LOVED smashing through those walls.

  • @johnalang Who wouldn't??

  • one of the alltime greatest videos

  • I remember watching the Superman TV series when I was a kid. Now I have the entire run on DVD. Interesting that the original costume that he wore for the first 2 seasons were not the red and blue costume since they liked the contrast on black and white created with the other costume.

  • WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

  • jesus this is moar liek the koolaid man amirite?

  • Wow, Supes Sure loves to crash through stuff...

  • What happened to this post??? It's going too fast or it's been shortened??

  • loved every hit !!

  • Yes, at :31 he is not very happy as he was hoping to catch these crooks trying to frame Inspector Henderson, our friend Robert Shayne.

  • now and forever, the real Superman

  • no other actor could carry his cape.now and forever the real SUPERMAN!

  • @davegoode100 you are correct

  • Dat's why he never gots no invite ta my house.

  • what episode is the hit at 0:31 from(not the one where jimmy is in front of the firing squad)?

  • i may be a superdope, because i have all the superman eps on dvd, but which ep does the scene at 0:30 appear in, the one where he smashes into the house, finds the place empty, and puts his fists on his sides? it shows three stacks of money on the table.

  • I think it might be from an episode where they frame Inspector Hendorson - an episode called BLACKMAIL in season 4

  • Wow. Brings back memories.

I remember one episode where Jimmy Olsen asks, after Superman breaks through a wall, Gee Superman, don't you ever use a door?

  • Smashing!

  • well done M.F.

  • we ever know if he was murdered are just he killed him self at end.....what u think

  • Great compilation of great Superman action!

  • I'll wager George got sick of doing that. ("F'Chris'sakes, fellahs? Can't Superman simply knock down the DOOR?")

  • actualy Jack Larson, (Jimmy Olsen) said that George loved to do that stuff, and if you want to know why. just stack up some beanbags like a wall and burst through it! it's a lot of fun!!!

Fun-Fact: in one episode Jimmy asks Supes why he doesn't just use the door. Superman's reply was "well this seemed a little more spectacular!"

  • The video itself seems to agree with that comment, the actor looks like he's either sick of bursting through so many walls, or vaguely amused by it, in many of the shots

  • george reeves will always be

SUPERMAN, and give the guy a break,

if he used a DOOR, he wouldn,t be

    "SUPERMAN". he'd be like

    everybody else.

  • When I saw the title of this video, I was expecting Superman knocking the crooks around a bit, but this was great, too. George Reeves is my favorite Superman (which is odd coming from me, considering I was born in 1982.....)

  • Great collection. That was so fun to watch.

  • All these sequences were performed by George Reeves himself, he preferred doing it over a stuntman. He really put a lot of effort in his portrayal as the Man Of Steel, making him the best Superman over many others.

  • Somebody should teach this guy how to open a door !

  • Just once, wouldn't it be GREAT to make an entrance like THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • george reeves, christopher reeve, and kirk alyn are the best supermans everrr to me.

  • man, the guys a walking universal key!

  • My god, can't the guy use a door????

  • There will never be another George Reeves. He personified the Man of Steel. He was killed but is not forgotton.

  • Thanks! George Reeves is the difnitely the best Superman, with Christopher being the ONLY worthy succesor!

  • "Super" video-thanks for posting!

  • Face it. If you could do that, you would. Every chance you got.

  • Actually Warner Bros didn't produce the original 1950s series...it was produced by National Comics Publications (DC Comics) before it got sucked up by Warner Communications in the 1970s....still it takes me back to when television was still innocent and campy was cool!

  • George Reeves actually preferred to smash through walls himself instead of a stuntman. Actually seemed to enjoy it.

  • That is true. Jack Larson confirmed this in an interview

  • thanks 4 uploading this video i loved it cuz i love when he crashes thou walls an such stuff.

  • Fantastic collection of "greatest hits"! :)

The latest news is that Season One is now available on iTunes!

  • Always lots of work for the local contractors

    with this destructive guy around.

The red brick wall outdoors, couldn't he just have leapt over the thing?

  • Superman rocks! My kid can do that too.

  • Thanks for uploading the video. Fantastic.

  • HEY RANDSLICKER,superman said that was more spectacular that way, maybe clark would, but superman would never, never lie....

  • why the hell did it show a cartoon superman digging all the way down, then have him walk into the wall

  • wow... THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!!

  • I don't care who plays the role in the present day: George Reeves will always be for Superman what Guy Williams was for Zorro. You just can't beat him.

  • USE THE DOOR YOU IDIOT!!!!

    only jokeing :)

  • Nice collage.

  • Props or not, it took a real man to break through those walls!!!! And he was just that!

  • According to Jack Larson (Jimmy Olson) Reeves took pride in those 'explosive' entrances. Its unfortunate that he was typecast in the role. Part of it was due to TV but also because he was great in the role. For a whole generation George Reeves WAS Superman. Seeing these clips makes me remember why I loved this progran as a kid. And anyone who thinks this show was inferior to the later movies watch the first season with Phyllis Coats. Great TV.

  • George Reaves will always be Superman! He was bigger than life, just watch where he breaks in and protects Jimmy from the firing squad!!

  • I apologize, I meant George Reeves.

  • Kirk Alyn will always be Superman! The original Superman!

  • Being first doesn't make you the best.Only the first.

  • George Reeves WAS Superman. He was just SO cool.

  • very nice he did get puffy at the end

and wore a cup to protect his package

  • padding under his costume.

  • We all once wanted to be like "Superman".

  • Just once in their life every man should enter a room like this.

  • I agree!

  • George always made it look so easy.

  • thank you for straightening out misterCONfusion, misterfusion!

  • Actually, it's from the padded muscle suit he wore under his costume :)

    Steve

  • They invented the DOOR after that! Thanks God!

  • nice post, thanks

  • just realized something--how come the clip won't fully finish loading up? it pauses at the warner bros logo.

  • I want to make an entrance like that!!

  • Look up in the sky, It's George Reeves and Christopher Reeve exchanging Superman stories. God bless both of them.

  • That just totally made my day!

  • Hey Kool Aid!!!

    Sorry, couldn't resist...

  • There's never been another like George Reeves!

  • great stuff thanks makes me feel young again

the actors of the series had more skill than the hbo and sho stars of today

  • Cool entrances, George Reeves sure got dirty in a couple of them lol. Btw, at :29, was that wall smash really necessary? XD It was just a fort wall, couldn't he have just flown over it?

  • ssssshocking!

  • smashing job

  • I love the color ones, but they were all--dare I say it--super! ^^

  • me too. In color episodes he used to look more bulked up

and more 'superman' like, probably because he got old

  • You know George loved doing that. :)

  • Who needs a door, anyway?!

J/K, that was a GREAT montage! Thanks for posting it!
