Both the Lancia Stratos and the Ferrari Dino have the same V6 engine, Both are beautifully made with such orchestral engine notes.
The only thing that would make me choose the Dino is the fact that they are more available. It may be underpowered by today's standards but it still has glamor compared to Ferraris these days.
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old DOHC Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree
stop playing this silly schoolboy numbers game! rpms and bhp mean nothing, enjoy the music and the soul of a wonderful car, probably the best that will ever be made in the history of the world.
Allways use two stroke oil API TC 1% in your fuel to use modern aggressive fuels in those classic engines--the modern fuels let corrode your carrbs and tanks etc... Two stroke oil lubricates and protect all those parts!
Hallo, better use good synthetic quality 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix,
to prevent engine wear and damage and fuel system corrosion using todays hyper aggressive dry eco fuels that comtain 10% alcohol.
Modern petrols are not good for the vintage enginematerials, so the two stroke oil prevents your carbs and tank and the upper cylinder parts from all that corrossive influences caused by the actual eco fuel.

this was the car that put ferrari into serious trouble and only 3 were ever sold worldwide, it only had 4 cylinders and made one of it's customers so angry that he hunted down the designers of the car and tried to kill them after buying one and being mislead to thinking it was a v12, he was so angry that he smashed his dino up with a rolling pin and now only 2 of these cars remain in existence, one is stored in ukalelee and this one is used buy a 72 year old woman in france to deliver eggs
@humanparody12 Ferrari built a couple of 4 cylinder race cars. Ascaris two driver championships 1952/1953were achieved with 4 cylinders (Ferrari 500 Formula 2).
I love the sound. especially the whine of the synchros in the transmission. the engine sounds a lot like the modern day inline 6 in the e46 M3. same rev range too...
The new E90 series is a V8, but the last generation (E46) 01-06 was a 3.2 I6. 8000 RPM redline, and sounds a lot like this... Albeit no where near the class.

that is no way running the engine up to 7800 RPM... not EVEN close... at 7000, the engine will sound very strained... there's no use going over 6000... the HP drops off dramatically. It would just ruin the engine to do it.

Ferrari never had the gaul to put a four cylinder engine in one of their cars. They weren't stupid enough to even entertain the notion.

the old monzas had four cilinder engines though.

It depends whats done on the engine.
My Ferrari Mechanic, has a totlly rebuilt engine that copes with 8000 RPM.But then he has got a lot of racing stuff in it.Its not original.

I don't have a Honda civic, I have this specific car, the Dino, and I can tell you that the engine should not be pushed above 7000rpm.
