@tobifog erm mine is in standard. GDAE from lowest pitch to highest pitch. You sure about your tuning? :P

@PersilFan Hi -it isa Lonestar Venetian mandolin- unfortunately not made anymore :( It is not the same one as in the movie - I searched high and low to find outwhat that one was and no such luckin finding it :(

Hi. I think i can reply to that. If i'm not mistaken that's an italian mandolin. The german mandolins are the ones used in bluegrass and american falk.

It is different from guitar in some ways. Depends on whether you play classical or acoustic/electric. I found it fairly easy transposing (see what i did there) from guitar to mandolin. You should definitely go for it. They are beautiful instruments and just fun to play and sound amazing but also looks impressive!

this is one of the best songs i heard in my life. when i saw the movie i only recorded this melody and you play it perfect with heart and soul. for this song i thought to learn mandoline, but i dont have the time. so i will try it on my side with guitar, but i think for the feeling its a tremolo from classic guitar very usefull. unfortunatly i dont play classic guitar, but i will try it. best wishes from germany
