  • Hard to belief the there are really ppl that don't like this, seriously this song cant be long enough and never gets bored.

  • Lol!!!! Surely the first video I see with "0 Don't like"... Don't need to ask why I suppose!!!! They just Fuckin rock!!!!

  • They should play that song live more often! :O

  • this song is just fucking genius!!!

  • Best voice in progressive rock right know, what the hell, the best voice - period.

  • To play this song live they need Jordan Rudess (The full orchestra man) btw this is just my opinion

  • @enooxx dont see why? the actual keyboardist does the job more than well enough hahaha

  • Michael Romeo is an unsung hero of music.

  • they are so amaizing live , and that voice , :-O just beautiful , Symphony X :-D

  • 2.20 - 3.22 nothing to say...

  • love'em

  • This particular song isn't a real neo-classical song. But most of their songs are. This is one of their absolute best though. All sections are incredible.

  • You guys are idiots for trying to label this music as anything.

This is Progressive Neo-classical- symphonic awesomeness.

Or as I would like to say. This is Symphony X!

  • @Sezzthrazz dude -______- lol

  • So have I, it is Symphonic, but its also Neo-Classical, how can you say Symphony X isn't Neo-Classical?

  • the crowd response is beautiful

  • 1:52 reminds me of The Neverending story when the kid is riding on that flying dog for the first time.

  • This song gives me the chills... It's like watching Clash of The Titans and the like...

  • Wow.... I usually don't bother to waste the 30 seconds it takes to make a comment, but I have to say...this is a really damn good live performance. And the singer is amazing.

  • not THE best but one of the best rock on if u ur real Proger u would say wat i say no extremist

  • 7:02 SLAPPIN DA BASS

  • @SirJamestheIII IM SLAPPIN DA BASS, MON

  • this song had definitely to be three hours longer.

  • or like .... twenty years

  • Man, this would have taken so long to sequence the ochestral track assuming it's all digital and not live. If it's live, that's an even greater accomplishment!

  • The rythm at 1:20 kicks ass!

  • Russell Allen ftw

  • i luv their unique styles and tones.

  • it's almost funny to watch this big huge guy sing so beautifully xD amazing band, symphony x, btw

  • what a crowd

  • Well, progressive/power metal isn't ultra crazy mosh time, but they are enjoying it a ton

  • I love watching older videos like this pre Paradise Lost tour. Now if only I could find videos of the V tour... :)

  • ardley216, I wish I could see weather the question is insulting ot not. Because when i read you are question it seems to me you are insulting them by almost saying they have 'no talent' but I'll a sure you their talent is greater than most musicians.

    But I'll answer your question.

Playing with a orchestra and playing with a programmed background instrument is very hard. (As a band not neciserraly as an individual)

  • im syaing they are probably thee most tallented band i know... i love them!

i know how hard it is to make this kind of music, i am a composer myself. but a real orchestra would obviously be ALOT better than computer generated orchestra..

  • ardley216,

    k. I wasn't sure what you meant.

What kind of music do you compose?

I myself am heavily influenced by Michael Romeo's Musical & Guitar Style :D Hopefully I can become as good as him on guitar, his skill is otherworldy.

Also the problem with preforming with a live orcestra is it is really expensive.

  • click on my channel and you'll find out.. its all piano :) and good luck with y your guitar! :)

and yeah it is expensive, i play trumpet in 2 orchestras, and if i could get hold of the full music score i might be able to purswade my conductor to get us to play it! :D

so if anyone has the music score for this PLEASE SEND!!

  • ardley216,

Thanks. Your piano stuff looks nice.

I have a Guitar Pro Music Score which has all instruments written down (with a 16-midi channel thing which Guitar Pro uses) but has to be transcribed to a more orchestral outlook though.

The Odyssey is a seriously tough song though, it will be hard to play.

  • Please seek "danny schneidemesser" and listen to his song "morning star" he did it using EAST WEST QUANTUM LEAP SYMPHONIC ORCHESTRA PLATINUM PLUS PLAY EDITION... sounds exactly equal to a real orchestra, that doesn't means that the kid press control+k and the music flows like magic... the computer is for RECORDING computers don't create music bro ;) computers are TOOLS for creating music with your own ideas... and I'm composer too :D

  • agreed im tired of people thinking hip hop producers dont write their own stuff....im a hip hop producer myself, but also play jazz/shred/metal(i know, 3 completely different genres) guitar and record with my computer and producer with my computer and nothing makes it by itself

  • They recorded this with a real orchestra as far as I know.

  • sorry man but they use samples. saw an interview where they talk about it.

  • Post it man

  • Michael Romeo composed the orchestration himself. They're not like Metallica and can afford to pay a famous orchestra to play for them live. -And Metallica did NOT write their orchestration. Romeo's is kind of brilliant. Probably the best guitarist around. And please nobody reply arguing that with Yngwie or Petrucci lol. Peace

  • ljgpromo,

Michael Romeo is probably one of the best guitarists in the world.

If you can see Michael Romeo is my favorite guitarist and inspires me a lot. :D

  • This song is a masterpiece, Romeo is a genious.

I love all the intricate harmonies, and accents by orchestral instruments, it's excellent.

  • He's surely the best Prog-Meal guitarist and songwirter.

  • Paul Waggoner from BTBAM is better. Romeo is the best when it comes to neo-classical prog.

  • @tpp8 dude this is not neo-classical, it is symphonic, plz learn more about metal. And yeah Michael is awesome

  • @MaximumPayne12 true but they have major neo-classical influences remember that 2 of micheal romeos major influences are uli jon roth in my view the creatorof neo-classical and malmsteen

  • @MaximumPayne12 No its neo-classical

  • @lpsh0rty Nope, sorry, it is symphonic...

  • @MaximumPayne12 No, Neo-Classical, is a branch of metal that is highly influenced by classical music. Hence Symphony X

  • @lpsh0rty Heh... trust me it is not Neoclassical, it is... well, it's actually Symphonic, Power, Progressive metal but not Neoclassical, i am absolutelly sure. Please learn more about metal genres, no offense.

  • @MaximumPayne12 and I'am absolutely sure your wrong.

  • @lpsh0rty Yeah well, I am not wrong.

  • @MaximumPayne12 yea you are!

  • @lpsh0rty No dude! I'm not.

  • @MaximumPayne12 yes, you have no clue about the metal genres that you have stated because this is Neo-Classical Metal.

  • @lpsh0rty Hey, chill man. I've known metal genres for now 12 years so I am quite sure what I am talking about. Please stop being so stubborn. This is symphonic metal... get over it.

  • real musicians r u serious they wrote the entire piece r u stupid.

  • i don't know what you mean by that comment, but its definitely one of my favorite songs ever written!

  • nvm it is my fav song too

  • ALLEN!!!!!!!!!!

  • NO question!! One of the greatest songs ever conjured!!

    SYMPHONY X!!!!

  • SX has always lacked a decent lighting show.

  • The best song ever!

    Hail SX!

  • ROMEO!!!!!!!!!!!

  • PINELLA!!!!

  • thank you so much for this video!!

    you are the best, man!

  • such a great song

  • Symphony X is great and so is this song =)

Just bought the album myself (listened it a lot of times with my brother), but this song is still great.

I think it's mainly because the length of this song is not just to make it a f***ing long song. I mean, it's not really repetitive and every thing fits in. If they should've made it shorter that would probably be even a bad thing because every part of this song is makes sense.

  • symphony x is soooooo god

  • Gracias por subirlo!! Una de las mejores canciones de Symphony X.

  • where's mike pinella?

  • Awesome vid! Thanks for the upload! Keep on rocking!
