  • I had one of these, and I also remember seeing the Nite Jammer: black/grey with blue & red color scheme.

  • 26 years still going strong

  • we have one too!! our bed buds are also missing!!

  • mine has 25 years and still going strong! i am a die hard p jammer

  • My dad (yes, my dad) had one of these... 15 years ago, his alarm clock died, so the junk collector neighbor we had gave this to him. His still had the bed buds wrapped around the reel. That alarm clock woke him up until the early 2000s, when we bought him a real alarm clock out of sympathy.

  • That reminds me of my sister's Sony Dream Machine from the early to mid 90's, she got it in 1996, it still works but isn't used now. The name P'jammer is just strange. To be honest I would prefer to use my Sangean RCR-4.

  • What Was The First Song You Played On AM?

  • @TheHackWhite "Duke Of Earl" by Gene Chandler (1962).

  • @vwestlife Lol Thanks

How Do You Know All This?

  • @TheHackWhite I know a lot of songs, and when I don't, I type part of the lyrics into Google and usually it comes up with the artist and title.

  • i thought the bed buds were condoms

  • I really like that clock! You must tell me where you found it!!! I need one just like it!

  • @Unicornguy: My girl has the EXACT same model & still uses it as her everyday alarm clock. I call it her "Miami Vice" radio because of the colour scheme. Unlike the one in the vid, hers still has the headphones w/it.

  • You MUST tell me where you found it! I would so enjoy a clock like that! I have found like wood grain clock radios ,but now that I see this... It looks like something that I would like because of the colours!!

  • @Unicornguy: She presumably bought it brand new some time when Reagan was still in the White House. I can double-check w/her for you, but I'm pretty sure that's the case.

  • Ok. Thanks! I don't think I can stress how much I LOVE this clock radio!!!!

  • @Unicornguy: You're quite welcome; try checking on ebay. She told me that they pop up for sale on there from time to time.

  • Oh, Thank you so much!!! If I find one it's going to look totally FABULOUS on my night stand!!!

  • @Unicornguy: Yeah, as I said, no problem, mate. It looks like something from The Sheena Easton Collection as far as I'm concerned. ;D

  • What's Sheena Easton?

  • Sheena Easton was a massive pop star back in the Eighties. You can find her vids here on YouTube by searching under her name. It's funny that you mention this because I was just trying to get her P'jammer radio to switch from AM to FM today. If you do pick one up, the switches are rather "glitchy" in my experience.

  • Thanks! I'll look for her. No luck with the radio on ebay... Can't find it...

  • No problem, & I stand corrected: she just told me that you had to buy the headphones separately on the GE model. Maybe there was a cheaper version that didn't come w/the "Bed Buds"?

  • Still no luck on Ebay... I'll have to find a picture of this clock radio and see if anyone on Craig's list has it...

  • That might be the way to go, mate. It's also interesting to find out that GE must have sold a version both w/ & w/o the headphones. They seem to be solidly-built little radios as well: arkienyc noted that they've been using theirs for 20+ yrs. as well.

  • Cool! I'll look for a pic on the web and post a wanted ad on Craig's list!

  • @Unicornguy: Sounds like that might work for ya, mate. I was trying to tune in an AM station today on my girl's GE radio. Those dial-in tuners can be a little tricky once you get used to the digital ones. But, as vwestlife (presumably) shows in the vid, the dial is pretty smooth on these models.

  • Thanks for all the help!

  • @Unicornguy: I'm not sure how much help I really was, but you are quite welcome, mate.

  • I love it! Just bought one off ebay. My friend got one for her 12th bday in the 1980's!

  • Can't stand those types of alarms. It makes me want to throw it across the room. :)

  • I have been using this exact alarm clock for the last 20+ years! I got it for Christmas, I believe between 1987-88. I've never had another, though I could not tell you how many years ago the ear buds were lost. The P'jammer is the best!

  • r u using a jazz dv151 to record this? if u are can you help me with mine? its SOOO blurry inside the house..:s

  • No, I used my Kodak Zi6. The Jazz is not good quality for indoor video. It is meant for bright lighting only.

  • I had an AM/FM clock radio alarm around that time (89-90ish) with the exact same display and the exact same alarm (god how I remember that alarm sound). It was a macho black horizontal type rather than the PJ style though. My memory wants to say it was branded Grundig, but who knows for sure.

  • That's way too cute!

  • The age of pink, teal, and white... and oh man that alarm is a bugger!

  • The Soundesign clock radio I smashed had the same pastel coloring and a much more annoying "foghorn" alarm buzzer.

  • My Realistic cassette deck is a Sanyo clone

  • Neat radio!

  • You must feel weird buying stuff like that. The looks you must get. :D

  • I don't mind, because in most cases their suspicions are correct. :-P

  • don't s'pose you're single and like british guys? :p ((hides))

  • Yes, and yes! ;-)
