CR 500 is an amazing bike. Since 2 strokes produce roughly 80% more power than 4 strokes, it's no surprise that the rider was only pulsing and never even had it wide open in the same gear to keep up with that 4 stroke KTM ;) . I can't wait to get one of these someday.

Maico made a 760 around the 1980s but only made 3 just for a special race. There was never a production 700 cc 15 or 20 years ago (KTM did have a 540 around 1990 though).

A few years ago (and today), Kostler Maico which currently produces Maicos does release a 700cc 2 stroke engine. A few years ago ATK put this motor into their 700cc Intimidator model.

You can always pay someone to bore the shit out of your cylinder though if you want.

not 540, KTM 550 2stroke. and you could tune them up to 100hp. KTM 380cc is the best big 2stroke. 500 is to hevy, 380cc is a big bore 250.. same weight as a 250 2stroke, but 500 perfomance. like riding 250 with nitro. I had a 1998 380sx with tune pipe++. 500< 2strokes don`t rev like a 380cc..

A CR500 would shit all over a CRF450. 2 strokes were always quicker than 4 strokes because the crank only has to spin round once to complete a full cycle, 4 stroke cranks have to spin twice to complete their full cycle. Fuck me there are some proper fucking retards on this site.
