  • I feel like such an idiot. I found Integral Birth and loved it but I never took the time to listen to more of Cynic. Now that I have, another portion of my life is complete. Fuck. Yes.

  • It's 2 years i didn't listen to this album, a word: amazing...

  • of you listen to this while you sleep you lucid sleep apperently :D im gnna try!!

  • Reminds me of Mastodon, which I LOVE. Great stuff, thinking about getting this album.

  • @Ryu12543 The thing is it's even better than Mastodon.

  • @chrismardyl Considering The Czar is one of the greatest songs of the 2000s, I don't know...

  • wow cant believe i havent listened to these guys before. awesome stuff

  • let's not try too hard on thinking about the proper label for this band. why the fuck does that even matter? death-fusion? what the fuck? you're only getting yourselves lost. just enjoy the music.

  • There barely is any jazz in this, im a jazz musican. Dont label music this is cynic they are unique like every other true musician.

  • @Eradicateify jazz influences maybe?

  • @rohanpogi

Its more classical, paul masvidal is classically trained guitarist he might have experiemented with jazz but he isnt jazz musician.

  • @Eradicateify yeah i agree but listen to textures that one's pretty jazzy. they are just geniuses

  • @rohanpogi

I love them, i dont call them genius but they are up there. Textures has fusion going on, i find it lovely.

  • @Eradicateify If there is anything very present it's fusion most likely. Not by chance is Malone a big estimator of Pastorius. But yeah, I agree. It's Cynic and that's IT.

  • AMAZING song, even better band!!!! I only wanna know what Om shrim maha

    Lakshmiyei swama om means...

  • This is obviously deathjazz. *trollface*

    Love Cynic.

  • @dragons3002

    This ain't death metal.

  • @ChainsawVsGod

    It's death-fusion.

  • @MrMetallicious

There is no trace of death metal in this song other than the occasional growls. Piss off with your weird fucking genres. They are not needed. So nerdy. Your the kind of guy that'd call Necrophagist, Neoclassical technical progressive Death metal I bet

  • @ChainsawVsGod

Nope, I'd call them Tech death. Besides, I'll call them whatever I want to fucking call them. You can like it or back off. My opinion wasn't needed until you decided to be a cock to someone else over the internet. Also, if you think that genre doesn't exist, then listen to obscura and atheist.

  • @MrMetallicious

Cool story bro. The internet tough guy thing really doesn't work for you. You still sound like some small dick nerd.

  • @ChainsawVsGod

You're on a Cynic video. You trying to insult people with nerd is laughable. It's like trying to call people who listen to attack attack faggots--while listening to attack attack.

  • @MrMetallicious

I'm not saying Cynic fans are nerds. I'm saying you are for the rude, pretentious and nerdy way you are talking.

  • @ChainsawVsGod

Pretentious and nerdy yes, but I wasn't rude until you decided to be. Besides, when did being a nerd on the internet become so rare and disgusting that it became an insult? Honestly, expand your vocabulary, kid. Now this was fun about a week ago, but now it's boring. Enjoy your life.

  • @MrMetallicious

Rofl. I love how all you sad internet geeks try and make yourself feel better by calling everyone "kid".

  • @ChainsawVsGod

Are you so lonely that you feel the need too try to talk to me ONE MONTH later? Kill yourself or grow thicker skin.

  • @MrMetallicious

I was just on the video listening to some Cynic, saw your comment and thought, "Oh yeah, that sad little fuck. I'l grace him with my words". And this is the thanks I get.

  • @ChainsawVsGod

Dude, I got tired of trolling you quite a while ago. gtfo jazzfag.

  • @MrMetallicious

    kbro

  • @ChainsawVsGod Sean Reinert and Paul Masvidal both played on the Human album by Death...that album is one, if not, the best death metal album ever put out (with the exception being Symbolic) so there's obviously death metal influences...i can definitely hear some Death-like melodies in this song

  • @MoshersRage

Sorry but your simply just wrong. There is absolutely no death metal in this. Death metal is Autopsy, Cannibal Corpse, early and mid Death, Atheist, Origin, Dying Fetus, etc. Its actually hilarious if you think this is Death metal.

  • @ChainsawVsGod i never said it was death metal...it's obviously not, except for the DEATH GROWLS...but nonetheless, there are big death metal influences in here...i can guarantee that this band wouldn't be the same if Paul and Sean hadn't been involved with Death

  • @MoshersRage

Cynics death metal days were back in their Focus era. They made that album just two years after they made Human with Death unless I'm mistaken. The made traced in air just a few years ago though. They'v evolved from death metal now onto this.

  • OHM SHRIM MAHA LAKSHMIYA SWAHA OHM!

  • @Zaberath do u at least know what u're saying??!!

  • @kriisz09 its a sanskrit mantra

  • does anyone know what kind of scale the lead guitar plays at the beginning? I think it's Locrian but I'm not sure...

  • @anonymousbl00dlust

    It's A locrian I believe.

  • Intro is so winful

  • Comment removed

  • I FUCKING LOVE CYNIC, THEY ARE YOU BEST BAND EVER!

  • as far as im aware, its a mantra for wealth, Om shrim maha

    Lakshmiyei swaha.

i dont think its has any specific translations, it means a lot, not just the few words that are there.

    i could be wrong though....

  • @Aliofdeath lakshmi is the goddess of wealth and fortune. this be true ^_^

  • What language is he speaking in that part? What's it mean?

  • @Wheelah23

seems like punjabi or hindi, Im indian so i have a hunch but im not that sure.

Lakshimeyei is a indian girl name.

  • @HeavyDeath13 It's actually Sanskrit

  • @Wheelah23

Nah its neither, defiantly indian though.

  • great song a life changer in fact.

  • Probably my favourite Cynic song. It's fucking awesome!

  • This is the best song ever written.

  • INNER!

  • awesome song.
