I think you are playing it more complicated than the original drummer did, as I don't think he played any of the double bass fills you are doing all the time. Actually I think your version is more jazzy or something. I like it. Most of the ozrics drumming is pretty basic and kind of sterile with few dynamics, so its nice to see you put a more natural feel and sound to it.

first off, u said musicians not bands, there is a distinct difference. a musician signifies an individual. u said english are best, u didnt add 'in general' until later. second, as for buddy rich, that was an appropriate example since this a youtube page focusing on drums/drummers. the bands you list are all great, great bands but most never would have existed without the american musicians/bands that so heavily influenced them.
The yanks know how to encourage musicians from a young age and consequently, they tend to pwn us brits IMO - music in schools in this country is a shambles. You'd have thought that my enthusiasm for drums would have made me want to do GCSE music but there was no danger of that as their idea of a music lesson was playing us dead guy's violin pieces. I tried to enroll at music school aged 12 and they told me to come back when i could sight-read, dunno what they thought i was going there for...

You must look to to 1.43 so much. Rad is the best drummer that Ed uses in my book. He is the funkiest, cunningest monkey around. Why they don't have him as THE drummer is a mystery.
I don't know too much about Rad except that I heard he had some health problems that stopped him playing, such a shame 'cos I love his style and after hearing this track for the first time I concluded that whoever was playing on it must be my favourite Ozric drummer. Mind you, I don't think I've heard any with Merv playing yet, I know just the man to ask about hearing some though so I'll rectify that shortly...

Wow, Ozrics used to make really hardcore mental music (this one, Vibuthi come to mind), nowadays it's just mellowed doped up old folk's music :)
