he is not supposed to sound like york...that is the point of a cover mofos you are supposed to do it your way...in that way mos def is successful. his voice is serious...even with this bad quality recording. plus you can't really get this song wrong..it is that good of a song.
More like Tone Def. Great song and I understand wanting to recreate it. I think he's just trying to pretend at least for a moment he's Radiohead, but don't we all?
people love to get on their high horse. Radiohead is an amazing band. Mos Def. is an amazing artist. He's giving the best form of flattery. I wouldn't suggest he record it. I do think, he created something off-the-cuff and interesting here, that's the point of art. Considering he mostly raps only... this was very cool. If he were in your kitchen playing this for you, I doubt you'd complain.
@perfectalt1tude Maybe not lol ...He was, like 40 minutes late, then did about 20 minutes of this ridiculous avante-garde, self-indulgent jazz shit hahahaha ..t'was terrible.
props to mos def for having the balls to cover such a great song by the best band in the world, but i think it wouldve been way sicker if he had the instrumental and then freestyled over it or something... mos def thom yorke collabo?
yeap..Mos Def was suspected to be involved in making oh The King of The Limbs. twitted by ChieftanMews on Feb17th, few days before the leash of The King of The lImbs
I like how this sounds, even if it's not as good as RH , its good in it's own way. Mos Def always brings out the real in whatever his spitting or singing, so I enjoy every moment I listen to him.
In the wake of autotune, it's refreshing to to hear hip-hop artists actually singing, even if it's not on pitch. At the very least, you know Mos is coming from the heart.
i thought that this song couldn't sound that bad.. if he thinks that the notes that he is doing at the final part of each line are ok, them maybe he can't listen to himself
God damn, how'd this get 5 stars? He did the song absolutely no justice, can't you hear his pitch? Christ, can HE hear his pitch? He desecrates this song to the highest degree. Not even in the ballpark...
This was my first year going to ACL, I won tickets, and was excited Mos Def was going to be there. This was one of the highlights of his show but the overall set wasn't that great. I was a little disappointed. Mos Def is my number one favorite rapper and I know he can perform better than this set.
I've seen Radiohead play it. I'm just as happy, if not more so, that Mos Def would play it. I thought it was sick as fuck seeing him cover it randomly live.
Cool tribute... It's always nice to see an artist paying some respect to another!

dam mos def, do your thing! i'd love to see them collab sometime, but it'll never happen because radiohead is anti social as hell

Thom Yorke also likes mos def; if you look at one of Thom's playlists on the Radiohead website, there's a mos def song on one of them.
