Max Midldleton wrote The Loner and dedicated it "to" Jeff Beck (as appose to wrote "for" Jeff Beck), Clem Clempson is one of the industries most respected guitarists, this live recording showcases why.

I was at this gig in the 2nd or 3rd row - brings back good memories, thanks for posting. I'm sure I heard that Max Middleton "wrote The Loner for Jeff Beck", yet I'm not aware that JB has ever recorded or performed it. Does anyone know different? Clem does a great job, but it really would be a Beck showcase I think.

@barrieflix Jeff did record a version pretty soon after the Cozy Powell version, it's very cool too!
