  • i remember hearing this as a child in 1981 not realising that it was the last and that bonham was dead...oh the days of innocence

  • it just so strange to me to think some people don't like this soild gold masterpeice!!!!

  • 4:18 - 5:00 woowwwwwwwwww

  • MOTHERFUCKEEEEEEEEEEEERRR

  • Jimmy Page the best second to none

  • o, yeah..it was on 8 track

  • Ha, my uncle would be in his room with the door lock and I would try to get in..and then I would smell a weird smell coming thru the bottom of the door. And this song was jammin in his room...now that was the times and the memories.

  • 3:43 Go Jimmy GO !!!!!!!!

  • @marcusdolby1

    Jimmy is My GOD !!

  • @ThrashRoC O My Jimmy!

  • Im 22 years old and i get the led out every day. not a single day goes by that i dont crank up the volume and get off listening to the greatest band in the world

  • gotta love the great Zeppelin

  • We would only take Zepplin out of the Tape Deck if there was a new Zepplin Album to put in it and the thing was always on FULL BLAST! Long live the 70's man.. Peace, Love, Flowers and Beads for Future generations to depend on when the Establishment is crumbling down around us..

  • @JangoManiac56 sick bro

  • heroin

  • @GraceJoplinGreen indeed. what great music it makes. :)

  • LED ZEPPELIN RULES!

  • I find it amazing how I can keep listening to great bands, that were at their creative top YEARS before I was born, over and over and over... and I get tired of most music nowadays after 2 weeks.

  • i miss these days!! music in its pure and unadulterated form!!!

  • anyone ever realised that the comments to songs like this one are mostly positive while people on other tunes most time aren't very nice to each other?

  • It is my opinion that Zep was reinventing themselves for the future of their music with the "In Through The Out Door" album. Plant was still recovering from the death of his son and Page and Bonham were both immersed in drugs and alcohol. It was a softer album, so in my teenage years when it was released, it had such a special meaning to me. It will always be one of my favorites.

  • Zepplin is so Awsome!! The older I get the MORE I LOVE IT!!!!! So many different sides and views and SOUNDS!!!!!!!!!!! I just love this music!

  • reminds me of in the light

  • Makes me want to pole dance for my husband listening to this...

  • @nanh2os

I wish you both the best of happiness!

  • I feel that this song is in the top ten of all Zep songs. Awesome song.

I really wish the radio would play some of the more obscure stuff. I mean Black Dog is great....but so is Out On The Tiles...and For Your Life..

  • When they start singing at beginning...chills! Still! TY

  • Sin = Pain

    Peace,

    V

  • cool song

  • Well even led zep was new and mainstream at one point.

  • I love classic rock, but the only new music I can listen to is underground hip hop, its the ONLY REAL SHIT LEFT

  • @ElBoogieAmworld Ignorant statement. I could list sooo many recent bands that anyone would consider 'real shit'. Turn off the radio occasionally.

  • @slypjOGh00dnigga I dont listen to the radio fuck stick

  • Comment removed

  • @monitchka I saw that statement as a generalization of the mainstream and a fair percentage of the new music being produced. Sorry for being a bit harsh and in the end everyone has a right to an opinion, but it infuriates me when people dismiss a lot of the new progressive music as trash saying only their beloved classics have any soul or heart in them. It's like spitting in the face of many extremely talented musicians.

  • 4:25 Heavenly glow, angelic music.

    4:02 FUCK OFF,,,, BEECHES!!! >:|

  • Rock on MegaBootch

  • DJgroupmath the song as a whole takes you away, it is spacious and flows. It moves you. Its the lack of content that gets you here. Anyone with a user name with 'DJ' in it should fuck off. Lets see your ass do anything except suck shit you fuckwit. The only reason you were born was because your father didn't wanna waste toilet paper on wiping up the semen stain he left on the seat after jacking off in the public toilets over a picture of his old man.

  • Anyone who looks for cool music on itunes top list songs and expects to find good shit is a fucking idiot, full stop.

  • This band is a monster...dont ever get it fcked up..period...if you need explaining..theres no hope for you anyway.

  • I mean, really..? Is it because it is Led Zeppelin that it rocks? Really? This is utter crap that you would ALL hate by any other name. The riff is guitar school, the organ is pompous and unnecessary, the solo sounds like KISS on a bad day, Plant doesn't care to put effort into singing or writing at this point, and Bonzo was playing with one foot in the grave, the other in your Mom's liquor cabinet! You should be ashamed! I would easily rather listen to someone worse who tried. Flame away

  • @DJgroupmath I was never a big fan of Zeppelin. Then I heard this song and it opened my eyes. I am now the biggest Led Zeppelin fan alive. No matter how many sentences you string together can you discredit "In the Evening" or Led Zeppelin. I wouldn't have to worry about hating it if someone else made it. No one else could make music like this. The slow, long organ is like floating through a beautiful endless space. Then the great guitar riffs and drums wake you up, and you're now going 100 mph.

  • @SomethingThatReal No, unfortunately, anyone else could make music like this. They know it isn't good. I am not saying they are terrible, but this is just band rock product, past their prime with no concern other than making more millions of dollars and sleeping with myriad more women. Mission accomplished. I like Led Zeppelin, as any rock fan is supposed to, lest they be flamed by teenagers and roadies everywhere, but nothing interesting is happening, and sadly, i think that's the point.

  • @DJgroupmath Well that is just one man's opinion who doesn't have a good taste in music.

  • crappy

  • @gagepinho1234 crappy what? i hope your talking about justin beibers music.

  • i gotta have it.

  • i listen to this in the evening, when the day is done, when i have a packed bong in front of me

  • Masterpiece

  • man, this can only sound the best with a subwoofer, but truely greater in your heart.

cant you here that bass? that rocks!

  • i love this fuckin song!! real rock n roll man the real shit :D !!!

  • used to listen to this on a ghetto blaster in the Heidelburg Castle

trippin in microdot... Ever fly across the Rhine? i have!!!

  • @michaelsivley auf englisch sagt man boom box und nicht ghetto blaster

  • Comment removed

  • @monitchka Good music hasnt left us, its hiding out there waiting to be discoverd by those few not content with the latest, greatest dribble. Its like christmas with santa, a camera with film, or a date with a beautifull woman.

  • @monitchka

Led Zeppelin only got GREAT songs , i like ALL 10 Records (include TSRTS)

    best band in universe !!

  • 5 people have no sense in music

  • 3:46 THIS IS ROCK'N ROLL!!!!!

  • lõl_Ì_fEÊl_s0_lOÑèly_todày

  • This song proves John Bonham could do more with less than any drummer who's ever lived.

  • led zeppelin live is fucking amazing, maybe you're not watching the right videos....the improvisation they used in live shows, the chemistry of the band mates, true art. and ALOT of musicians cover other artists work, ALOT of bob dylans have been covered clearly....and whatever they covered is more than made up for in the amount of incredibly original works they "made themselves"...

  • i was 15 years old when this song came out in 1979. I have loved it ever since !!1

  • I was plowing through 2 of dads old zeppelin collectors-disks when I got to this track. After the first minute, when that riff hits you like a fucking brick in the face, I was completely blown away.

  • My all-time FAVORITE Zeppelin song. Underfuckingrated.

  • listen close to the kick pedal it one one tow then a quite triplet

  • If you listen to this song on the Zep DVD it will bring chills to your spine. Jimmy plays his solo unlike anything I've ever seen and then later there's this interplay between him and Bonham. A classic for all time!!

  • @dmlddspa can u more precise about the DVD, i'd love to see it man,Jimmy is like god to me

  • @simpson2221 I agree, to just mention Justin Beiber, Lady Ga Ga, or any other of these wanna-be's in the same sentence as Zeppelin is just sacrilege!

  • Led Zeppelin ur the best band ever, this song says it all

  • love this song !!!!!! i used to listen to the song on a 8 track lol sounded so kewl and now with the cds it sounds even better <3 theese guys sound

  • love this song !!!!!!

  • One of the most haunting introductions ever.

  • Led Zeppelin Is What We Call Real Music!

  • One of their best.

  • @drnapls2 Go Die :)

  • @drnapls2 you my friend will burn in hell

  • @zxcraziixbabiizx Put down the pipe and get a life!

  • ,,I'd love to hear Justin Bieber record this song, I'm sure a few hours after doing so he'd probably curl up in a corner under a bridge and die, it was just to good for him.

  • @PupuTheClown whos justin bieber? oh right hes that bastard whos mentioned EVERWHERE!just stop talking about him and curl up in a corner with this song in max volume

  • Led Zeppelin was not metal but theey had some songs (communication breackdown, for example) that were tagged as heavy metal ( a tag that none of the members liked) however they did have huge blues influence....bitches

  • LED ZEPPELIN BLACK SABBATH DEEP PURPLE nothing else.

  • Purple and Zepp are my fav bands!!

  • MA MERE Y ETAIT ET WOUAI

  • Zep wasnt heavy meat...its wasnt blues!!!! shit it was better than anythyng else..u cant compare this to anything

  • @zeek1227 zep wasnt heavy metal or blues ZEP WAS ZEP

  • @tuffguy333 thats wat i sed sherlock

  • I don't know about you guys but, I'd put a motherfucker in the hospital to this... LOVE that breakdown at the end It's soo BROOTAL!!!!

  • Pioneers, yes. Quality, yes. Metal, NO! If you call Zep "metal" you fundamentally misunderstand them. Sabbath and Purple will be long forgotten when Led Zeppelin are still getting played and listened to a hundred years from now.

  • @NuttyJon forgotten no way.... but i do think deathcore will make old rock a thing of the past... but forgotten no way.

  • @BDean97 deathcore can suck my dick.. ive read some stupid shit in my day but that sir is probably the stupidest..

  • @yelhsasrelie "stupidest" isn't even a word.. dumb cunt

  • @BDean97 stupidest is a word! a word has to have THREE syllables before you add the second word in front of it.

  • @AccaDacca23 Not to add fuel to the firestorm, but would this be an example ??

    "More Zeppelin"? ;)

  • @yelhsasrelie if your gunna insult someone at least use words that are in the dictionary

    not some ebonics bullshit

  • @ianmcdawg lmfao

  • Zepp were heavy metal pioneers, their early metal (along with sabbath and purple) is what I call quality metal... They showed the way but unworthy bands after them screwed that promissing nwe genre and so today's crap metal was born! Personally I define metal through sabbath mostly, zepp and early d.p. (with gillan and blackmore)

  • 2:35 that picture, if the music dosent do it (for some unimaginable reason) proves the talent of these men :D

  • this is the best song for cruising stoned, ever made.

  • @mazdaplz a must have in your "driveing while blind" sound track.

  • @mazdaplz well said Maz!

  • @mazdaplz Led Zeppelin has all the best songs for any occasion

  • @mazdaplz right on !

  • best band ever, great pics

  • at 4:20 jimmy page just transforms this song unto another realm if you will it moves from a good pace heavy blues track into a pink floyd like ballad what genius!

  • @mikegon42 Ironically it starts at 4:20 too

  • the intro itself is such a fantastic eargasm, i wish it could have been longer!! thanx to jpj 4 that.

  • zeppelin rush and pinkfloyd the best of the 70's and 80's

  • EXCELLENT photos! So many I've never seen. Appreciate this so very much. Thank you for posting, my friend.

  • men u got to roll one up when listening to this tune, just to greart Long Live LZ

  • bonzo mutherfucker forever!!!

  • cool, I am the first person to comment, i must say led zeppelin is one of my favorite bands ever, even their unknown shit sounds good

  • @ambidextrousswordmen thats why they considered the greatest band of all time.

  • paper bag time

  • FUCKING CLASIC!!! xxxxx

  • With the issue of "In Through the Out Door" an era ended. My favorite LZ song & album ever!!

  • The placement of the Jimmy Page violin bow pictures was copacetic. Great pictures, great song.

  • One of my favorite Zeppelin songs, everything comes to together so well, has a nice slow change up in the middle of the song, and then your full speed ahead on the Zep roller coaster. Too bad they did not make a video for this one, they could do a promo like they did for Travelling Riverside Blues.

    Nice Work Boys!

Page played a Gizmatron on this one.

  • does he say "OH, I NEED YOUR LOVE, OH NEED YOUR LOVE, OH I GOT HEAD" in the first chorus? xd very epic song.

  • This new youtube format sucks! no URL to cut copy and paste!

  • @cooler5150 you mean like the code 2 put a mini version of it on like (for example) facebook? or the link for the page? 1) click the (EMBED) button right under the views ticker, and for 2) just copy the link in the address bar...

  • this song is going to the calm situation like the beach boy's latest album is.

  • This song is amazing!!!

    Classic!!

  • "It's lonely at the bottom...and nasty at the top..."

  • 2:16 Beasts : )

  • That effect at 3:43 always makes me think of a zeppelin exploading for some reason..gives me chills all the time.

  • @0008brown8000 just amazing!!!! i always get a buzz even after hearing it 24000 times.top top band

  • Ahí va eso.

  • Best love song ever. OH I NEED YOUR LOVE, don't get better than that.

  • Just Rock

  • This has been used on my alarm clock every morning for the past few weeks and what can I say about it?

:58 gets me up every time.

  • @VysetheLegend88 .. What you can say is that your alarm clock has great taste.

  • @VysetheLegend88 Even better if you wake up at night.

  • I was once working on recreating this piece.

  • dam what can i say...is led zeppelin.

  • ooooooooooo baby!

  • This was my second Led Zeppelin album that I bought back in Nov of 86 (cassette, actually). Played the crap out of it throughout 87, cuz the music really sucked at the time, all that Bon Jovi and Madonna crap.

  • It's fucking Led Zeppelin, it's nothing to do with any other band. What's the point in spoiling it by referencing those two overrated piles of shit???

  • Hey I consider Zeppelin as the ultimate band. I don't think that I' m spoiling in any way the band. And ah....btw I really don't agree that Floyd are "overrated piles of shit"

  • thank u pink floyd is just as good as led zeppelin :)

  • @PennStateC

Let's face it, they're not, but they are good yes.

  • I hope Jimmy puts out new music in 2010.

And I hope it sounds like this....

  • love this song

  • awesome song! love led zeppelin!

BTW def leppeard's "rock of ages" uses sort of the same main riff of this song

  • Power !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for the post....Great Song!!!!

  • 1:35 a punto de ser atropellados-

  • Robert Plant 4 ever!!!

  • Page is awesome!

  • Zeppelin Forever

  • damn i cant believe i'm so fortunate that i get to hear this SUPERBAND

Simply the best Rock and Roll ever

  • te quedo chingón we

  • Comment removed

  • So, does anybody else think Zep was just another metal band? I DON'T THINK SO!

  • no' i don't but they were along with sabbath and purple the biggest influence for all of the heavy metal bands starting on judas priest. even zepp members used to say that they dont like the fact that people labeled them as a heavy metal band .

i think Zepp sabbath & purple are not metal. they're only hard rock bands

i think zeppelin is the greatest band EVER

And they have an amazing versatility.

they could play blues, folk or even rregae songs and still be the best

  • i agree with you on this completely dude, 100%

  • Not even HEAVY METAL.Just really good blues influenced HARD ROCK.The best ever.

  • ,,no this was modern rock, very ahead of it's time and unique, Zeps next album was going to be more like this, probably released in 1981.

  • @BPavsner zep was hardly a metal band. they were blues and funk and hard rock. sure they inluenced metal, but they werent "metal" metal

  • @BPavsner they influenced the greatest metal bands that why theyre considered a metal band

  • @BPavsner The live version is crap though because Page was wwaaaayyyy too stoned.... Sad really, I'm a huge Zepp nut, except when it comes to the bulk of their live recordings.

Though I have a friend who hates them because they 'stole' (bought) a lot of songs and made them more popular than the original artists. . . I guess it's all perception.

  • @Rilriia Just checked out that Knebworth live version. I thought it was going to be awesome until Page started playing. It sounded like he screwed up right at the beginning.

  • @Zerojimm Oh I know... it just makes you want to put a gun to your ears. The sad thing is that somewhere floating around the 'net, there's an amazing live performance of Dazed & Confused. I've never known where it was done, but it was Zep at their best. You listen to it and your jaw drops and you shiver.... I'm reasonably certain it's Page playing, and he makes the guitar weep. It hurts and you feel it in the marrow of your soul.

They were amazing, no doubt. But only when sober. Sad really.

  • FAVORITE zep song!!

  • John Bonham was one of the most powerful rock drummers ever as the song proves.

  • Fuck yeah, it's all so dam fine.....
