Please drive to D.C. and take your chances parking, the city needs $ from parking tickets. Metro Smithsonian station, walk to the Tidal Basin, a minimum of 15 minutes, just under a mile, depending on which vantage point you seek out. There are many other places in the city with cherry trees, such as Hains Point. Bradford Pear trees are also in bloom with white flowers.

Best place to eat: National Gallery of Art Cascade Café and the Espresso & Gelato Bar, East Building, Concourse Level.
