I am very thankful and grateful to have health insurance and to have what seem to me to be good doctors. A lot of times I have thought that I am extremely lucky to be able to work even though I have depression, anxiety and OCD. I guess for me my medication works or I have been misdiagnosed. I'm sorry you were denied disability and after a year!! How frustrating!! But if a person would walk out of a restaurant for poor service then why not walk out of the doctor's for the same thing. :)
I have an amazing doctor, he listens to me and he helps me. Even if I come into the emergency clinic to see him, he takes me right away because he knows that I can't wait very long. I do hear people in the clinic complaining about why I got into see the doctor before waiting my turn, I feel guilty about it, but for me, it is important to avoid these panic attacks! My visit goes quickly, I'm in and out in about 8 minutes most times, just to readjust my medication or give him a insurance form.
The system is absolutely stupid I just recently applied for disability and i don't have high hopes as the system is bull. I have been to many doctors where i refuses to stay in if there running that late...ESPECIALLY if they know the reason I'm going in. It's enough anxiousness going to an appointment in the first place...Don't need the extra wait of even 10-30 minutes forget it.
Just had to say that I do not understand why the majority of receptionists are rude and also don't know why patients must tell the medical asst or lpn at the office what is wrong when as you said it must be repeated again to the doctor. It's not like a med asst. or lpn can even come close to diagnosing.
i know i hate that, some 14 year old receptionist asks me what the reason is.. are u a goddamn doctor? and id rather not say in a room full of 15 silent people who are obveously listening to me. ever time they ask though just say its personal thats what i do even though everyone thinks u have an STD or somthing.
I've had to leave my doctor's office after waiting in a crowded waiting room for a long time. I ended up having an all-out panic attack. I actually got onto disability for my agoraphobia. My primary car doctor helped me with that. My anxiety had affected my overall health at the time I was approved. Now my health is ok but I do get reviewed every 3 years by disability and am approved. The agoraphobia has gotten progressively worse over the years.
I agree with everything you said about doctors, I often thought I should just tape myself and give it to the doctor so that I would not have to keep repeating my story.
I agree. I have LIVED this that most of these doctors are no good. They don't even know what to do half of the time. Thank you for this video. I thought I was alone in this.
my shrink...im sittin in the waiting room all the time... i miss one appt. and its 60 dollar charge. i looked at my insurance bill and he charges 150 and my insurance pays 60! its bullshit. my insurance pays for my apt. the same as i have to pay when i miss it.
I had one appointment where the doctor was very late, I actually left after an hour in the waiting room I then sent the doctor a bill for $75.00 for an hour of MY time. He thought if I had the guts to bill him, he PAID It and has never been late since.
I agree with you. I don't think doctors are compassionate enough..the majority of them seem to not give a crap about us. I recently went to my doctor and ended up spending $96 only to be preached to on the importance of having health insurance. She barely listened to my concerns about my health.
I totally agree with you that the receptionists in these dr's offices are R-U-D-E.
Have you tried applying for Food Stamps. I know it doesn't sound like much, but it does help. I had them for 6 months and of course when I went back the 2nd time to reinstate them for another 6 months I had to jump through more hoops in order to get approved. So, I'm waiting to hear from them any day now.
