How come whenever Mind of Retro2 plays, there are absolutely no enemy forces? Im sure the enemy would have had SOMETHING! mabye a pair of outposts or xbows.
i often make much outposts and try making a revolution in about 12 mins on plains (with 4 outposts and 1 fort)...usually thats bashing nasty rushers like russians XD outposts fuck them
well, i'm 1st lui, and with that tactic, you won't be kicking any ass, besides noobass, first you always make 2 barracks, because you cant do shit with 15 jans, defently against good players you have to sen, 700 food, 600 food, and then 5 jans, until you have around 40 jans when you reach min 9, and then you own..
@Nollerke build only one brakers is not weaker than build 2, but you will maby need to build more later...
if you build 2 brakers you will still build 2-3 in ea of your brakers... so its not much different to do 1 or 2 brakers... ofte is captains building one... if you build one you need to do cavs card first then 5 jains or 5 jains than 3 cavs, afther then you need 700 food... it is posible to take down other capains whit this rush. but if you got low homecity lvl you need to do 2 brakers.
5. Ship 5 cossacks, spawn strelets. 6. Ship 13 strelets, spawn strelets. You have about 2 minutes till he ages to build an army. You'll have an army of around 80 by then. If he has more than 2 outposts, retreat. Send your army to destroy barracks, or any hope of a rebellion. Knock out his towncenter. This is vital. Shipments are what drives a successful rush. Without his town center, your are free to boom. Even if it takes all 80 of your military, once his town center is gone - its over!
Rush should ONLY be used against weak economic civs (slow age civs). Weaknesses: Outposts, cavalry - Dutch, British/Strengths: Ottomans, Germans* (slow villagers, slow aging, slow military capabilities). 1. 2 villagers on chords of resources, the rest immediatly on food. Send explorer out for treasures (you need them). 2. Set one villager out to your enemies side (to later build a blockhouse). 3. Age around 2:30. 4. Build blockhouse with 400 wood. Set shipments to that blockhouse.
I enjoy learning new rushes, but this rush would never work. Russians can have an army of 100 by the time you've aged (4:46). Take the tradepost at the center of the map! Don't ship 3 villagers, ship wood (ottomans need that). Once in age II, ship military units 1st (5 jans & 3 hussars) & then crates of food. Remember that Russians can build an outpost (barracks) in age I, giving them the ability to quickly ship cossacks right in front of your civ! My russian rush gets to age 2 in about 2:30!
usually we all have to rely on shipments since shipments give you villagers, and crates which are really good, and sometimes armies for some rushes. However i have heard about a Russian rush that doesn't require too much villagers, i believe Mr. Milo made one

Cavalry is the Russian's weakness (meaning the German's are its ultimate weakness). Below is a rundown of a simple Russian Rush. expert has handicap which means it gathers faster than you and build armies faster, so its not like a human, so i wouldn't want to do it against an expert cuz it would have the advantage, which a human will not have because humans vs humans is pretty much equal.....and right bout now all that I have said is argue-able....
i never said it was hard to do, and i thought it might take a while with hard but with my other recent vids i realized it wasn't even hard. Otto rush is hard vs British Human players cause teh brits counter ottos, hoped that helped a bit

No, sorry i should hav ebeen more clear, he made a youtube video about a pure janissary rush. It looked quiet effective. Nevermind though i can't remember what the video was called, i thinkit was just called "Ottomans".

do u have the game in windowed mode, if so then your good, if not do so :P however the hypercam only records whats inside the flickering box, and press "select region" and then select the screen, and then start recording. Now its also good if you have Windows Movie Maker so you can edit it and add some music =) hope that helped
no, i mean you only get 200 wood maybe if your lucky 300 on TAD,ifyou get 300 you can build a TP but then you wouldn't have enough to build a house so you have to bother gather wood to build house fast so that would be a waste of time to age up.
lol you get 300 wood so all you need is 50 wood to make a house sending a few villies early will get you 50 wood before your tenth villy arrives and still up around 4 mins
yeah and so is the exp you get from building the tp and xp you get from the trav that passes it.that means you get to send 3 villagers earlier which means more resources and a shipment when aging
i'm more concerned about getting a rush as fast as possible so i want 3 vil card as fast as possible in 1st age for better eco and faster age up. when i'm in age 2 i send 5 jan card as fast as possible + build a barracks at the same time, so i have 10 janniz, 1 explorer ready at 5 minutes SHARP.
what you said can only be achieved by building a tp.if you do not build a tp first you will not get your 1st shipment until your about ready to age and then you have to wait to get xp for your 5 jan card

Thats why you make sure theres no advanced battle later. Finish him off right off the start. And if your worried about wood, theres cards or more settlers.
true that works with luitenents and down....but when u get really high you can't finish them quickly since they'll try to be one step ahead...unless you got a really super army...so what time zone are you in?
I hate people who know they are going to lose but keep running with 1 settler so you have to chase them and wait till you get spies sometimes..pisses me off
what do u mean by lvl? as in HC level its because i've been playing for a while and i have done plantation xp games which you build plantations with an enemy then destroy them so you both get xp.
i click the icon 5 times since 5's the build limit at one time, except if your japan then it can be 10. Sorry if I didn't answer your question correctly ( I don't know if i did in the first place but hopefully i did)
hold down shift then click jannissary once, or be a smart person about it, and hotkey everything, then press shift then the hotkey for jannissary, or be even smarter about it and don't play the ottos :P
sry i don't mean to be that mean to the ottomans, but they really require no skill to play cause you get villagers for free, but this also impedes their economy making them relatively terrible unless you make abus guns....its better to be a civ that an boom tho :P
kk we establish that ottomans don't take skill but we need to think of the civs that do require skill...ill start a list and see if we can come up with them:
Skill Civs: Chinese, Spanish, Portugal, German?, Souix, Iro, Aztec, and thats all i can think of. If you can think of more or if you disagree reply to this post please ^_^
woah rofl i never realized how bad this is until now....firstly in age 1, all villagers should gather food...(except while aging). Seconldy, build a mosque instead of a tp because both supply exp (1.01) then get the villagers train faster upgrade. Thirdly, shoot hunts back towards tc so you don't get raided in colonial. Fourthly, enable all minimized user interface options they are very useful. Finally, jannissaries are terrible; make abus, the only good unit ottos have till spahi.
this is a reg. aoe rush, did i forget to mention that so mosques are still 250 wood and they don't xp which is why i didn't build a mosque, second yes this vid is old and i have learned much, like shooting dear towards tc, janisaries are reg. units although i do suggest hussars and abus, and third age send spahi cards and don't forget MAMALUKES =P
this rush won't work without the gold gathering cuz sometimes it might get scarce.
ur playing tad in this aren't you? and if your ottos in reg aoe you should shoot yourelf (y?) because they don't have a light infantry unit, and can be hit and run by all light infantry, rendering them as useless as pikemen vs other units. After the jannissary rush fails vs any light infantry, ottos fall way behind in economy. Only noobs and british could possibly fall victim to this rush, unless you managed to get a decent number of abus to back it up
i play TAD on this but i use Reg.aoe decks, and the thing is u take chances with ottomans ( i love taking chances) you can make jans with hussars also, or just plain hussars when u vs dutch cuz they make skirms :P
i'm starting to think arguing will solve this but it probably won't =( so we should make a vid or sometin sometime so that way we can prove your/my point?

kk google hypercam, download it, use it, window mode the game, and select the area, and record. however it will get laggy, so i don't recommend you record while your playing online, but "record" game option in the game, and then go to your "recorded games" and record off of that, however hypercam will only record 10 min.

hey retro; i see that your a master sargent now Way to go!. Moo and i are 300th in the ladders last i checked, but we keep losing to the first people. They are both terrible but play well as a team, and as you saw moo and i did 2 1v1 strats rather than a team one. We're working on it tho :P. If you ever want to 1v1... whisper me ;) (i always like a challenge)

hmm jans are slow moving so i usually build the barracks close range to the enemy... it gets ur units in their quicker + once u ship ur hussars out u can move ur jans in whilst they are running down... the earlier u catch them the better!
bad side of that is if they see ur barracks while ur barely building them odds are they'll try to take over them :P I don't like FB (foward bases) i'd rather fight on home turf cuz they waste their army while i'm buliding army at same time. but i like the hussar idea though =D. very good feedback.

Regardless of your rank the fact you play ottos means you don't have the skill to play another civ that requires miro in age 1, and doesn't suck after the 2nd age (unless FI) I know we don't hate eachother retro but srsly i think calling u a noob is appropriate in this situation as you are laming ottomans, who really don't take skill to play :P

i play ports in rush, germans i can't really rush that well, french i can't rush.so the non lamer civs that can rush are spanish,ports, souix, iros, but thnx for feedback and i know this is noob tactic advance tactics are used for majors who rush with ottomans who i consider noobs too :P maybe i should post a vid trying to fight a major who lames in ottoman too that way i can become the greatest lamer jk

you need to use 500 food to get the perfect... its more resores and you will need the resores...
people that use 400 wood is often builiding 2 brakers... if you dod the 3hussars card use its as your first card afther age up.

usually we all have to rely on shipments since shipments give you villagers, and crates which are really good, and sometimes armies for some rushes. However i have heard about a Russian rush that doesn't require too much villagers, i believe Mr. Milo made one

Yeah i know who Mr. Milo is. Russians dont get villager shipments. They get 13 strels and 4 and 5 cossacks. A Garrisoned TC will kill all of that.

The point of a Russian Rush is to disrupt his settlers. Remember that strelets are a weak seige unit and cossacks are substantially better. Cavalry is the Russian's weakness (meaning the German's are its ultimate weakness). Below is a rundown of a simple Russian Rush. Easily beaten by an opponent who ages at around 3:00, but has a resistence to the Germans. This is essentially an anti-German rush (due to the German's small villager count - a quick economic knockout).

expert has handicap which means it gathers faster than you and build armies faster, so its not like a human, so i wouldn't want to do it against an expert cuz it would have the advantage, which a human will not have because humans vs humans is pretty much equal.....and right bout now all that I have said is argue-able....

Lol, why do you say ottoman rush is hard to do on Hard Difficulty? It is easy, Takes like 3 min to Age up, and for the computer like 5/6...
So when they age up, I already have gathered an army, so they dont stand a chance.

i never said it was hard to do, and i thought it might take a while with hard but with my other recent vids i realized it wasn't even hard. Otto rush is hard vs British Human players cause teh brits counter ottos, hoped that helped a bit

do u have the game in windowed mode, if so then your good, if not do so :P however the hypercam only records whats inside the flickering box, and press "select region" and then select the screen, and then start recording. Now its also good if you have Windows Movie Maker so you can edit it and add some music =) hope that helped

no, i mean you only get 200 wood maybe if your lucky 300 on TAD,ifyou get 300 you can build a TP but then you wouldn't have enough to build a house so you have to bother gather wood to build house fast so that would be a waste of time to age up.

lol you get 300 wood so all you need is 50 wood to make a house sending a few villies early will get you 50 wood before your tenth villy arrives and still up around 4 mins

i'm more concerned about getting a rush as fast as possible so i want 3 vil card as fast as possible in 1st age for better eco and faster age up. when i'm in age 2 i send 5 jan card as fast as possible + build a barracks at the same time, so i have 10 janniz, 1 explorer ready at 5 minutes SHARP.

what you said can only be achieved by building a tp.if you do not build a tp first you will not get your 1st shipment until your about ready to age and then you have to wait to get xp for your 5 jan card

Thats why you make sure theres no advanced battle later. Finish him off right off the start. And if your worried about wood, theres cards or more settlers.

hold down shift then click jannissary once, or be a smart person about it, and hotkey everything, then press shift then the hotkey for jannissary, or be even smarter about it and don't play the ottos :P

sry i don't mean to be that mean to the ottomans, but they really require no skill to play cause you get villagers for free, but this also impedes their economy making them relatively terrible unless you make abus guns....its better to be a civ that an boom tho :P

woah rofl i never realized how bad this is until now....firstly in age 1, all villagers should gather food...(except while aging). Seconldy, build a mosque instead of a tp because both supply exp (1.01) then get the villagers train faster upgrade. Thirdly, shoot hunts back towards tc so you don't get raided in colonial. Fourthly, enable all minimized user interface options they are very useful. Finally, jannissaries are terrible; make abus, the only good unit ottos have till spahi.

this is a reg. aoe rush, did i forget to mention that so mosques are still 250 wood and they don't xp which is why i didn't build a mosque, second yes this vid is old and i have learned much, like shooting dear towards tc, janisaries are reg. units although i do suggest hussars and abus, and third age send spahi cards and don't forget MAMALUKES =P
this rush won't work without the gold gathering cuz sometimes it might get scarce.

ur playing tad in this aren't you? and if your ottos in reg aoe you should shoot yourelf (y?) because they don't have a light infantry unit, and can be hit and run by all light infantry, rendering them as useless as pikemen vs other units. After the jannissary rush fails vs any light infantry, ottos fall way behind in economy. Only noobs and british could possibly fall victim to this rush, unless you managed to get a decent number of abus to back it up

i play TAD on this but i use Reg.aoe decks, and the thing is u take chances with ottomans ( i love taking chances) you can make jans with hussars also, or just plain hussars when u vs dutch cuz they make skirms :P
i'm starting to think arguing will solve this but it probably won't =( so we should make a vid or sometin sometime so that way we can prove your/my point?
(btw this is sorta a noob rush, i admit that, which is why i use a different one when i play experts.)

kk google hypercam, download it, use it, window mode the game, and select the area, and record. however it will get laggy, so i don't recommend you record while your playing online, but "record" game option in the game, and then go to your "recorded games" and record off of that, however hypercam will only record 10 min.

hey retro; i see that your a master sargent now Way to go!. Moo and i are 300th in the ladders last i checked, but we keep losing to the first people. They are both terrible but play well as a team, and as you saw moo and i did 2 1v1 strats rather than a team one. We're working on it tho :P. hmm jans are slow moving so i usually build the barracks close range to the enemy... it gets ur units in their quicker + once u ship ur hussars out u can move ur jans in whilst they are running down... the earlier u catch them the better!

bad side of that is if they see ur barracks while ur barely building them odds are they'll try to take over them :P I don't like FB (foward bases) i'd rather fight on home turf cuz they waste their army while i'm buliding army at same time. but i like the hussar idea though =D. very good feedback.

Regardless of your rank the fact you play ottos means you don't have the skill to play another civ that requires miro in age 1, and doesn't suck after the 2nd age (unless FI) I know we don't hate eachother retro but srsly i think calling u a noob is appropriate in this situation as you are laming ottomans, who really don't take skill to play :P

i play ports in rush, germans i can't really rush that well, french i can't rush.so the non lamer civs that can rush are spanish,ports, souix, iros, but thnx for feedback and i know this is noob tactic advance tactics are used for majors who rush with ottomans who i consider noobs too :P maybe i should post a vid trying to fight a major who lames in ottoman too that way i can become the greatest lamer jk
