I remember watching this when it first aired. It started the Blackjack Mulligan/Iron Sheik feud. I went to a cage match between the two at the old Charleston County Hall in Charleston,South Carolina. Bloody match! Mulligan STOMPED him!!! The fans ate it up!!!!

I read an interview with Bob Caudle on Mid-Atlantic Gateway. He said he was never told what was going to happen on the program. He also did the weather at WRAL for several years. You can't really see it on here but Mulligan's back was really messed up. I wonder if the Sheik just got carried away.

Not a bad angle, but Bob Caudle's voice doesn't seem to change much as Blackjack is being attacked. I think Caudle could have done a better job selling this as an announcer. Luckily, the crowd is really into it (as evidenced by the screaming), so this segment went well in spite of Caudle.

i loved brody and mulligan. i met both and they were truly good people. i also met the iron sheik and he was really a prick. i love the old school mid-atlantic wrestling. i would love to see the mulligan-flair feud aka the hat and robe incident. and does any one have footage of the tim woods and buddy roberts feud when tim was wrestling as mr wrestling. that was truly a great era for all of wrestling

I have 2 pairs of Persian meels from the only company in the U.S. that makes them, revolutionclubs. Just one 15 pound club is equal to a 75lbs. dumbbell because of torque. It is by far much tougher than any conventional exercise equipment. The Iron Sheik was the real deal, allot more than just a gimmick.

@XHEARTwithHOLESX Those are Persian Pahlevan also known as Persian Clubs or Heavy Meels. Weight varies but those look between 30 - 50 lbs with all the weight up top. To swing those around requires serious wrist and shoulder strength as well as balance and coordination.

They were doing an angle where Jim Brunzell had taken off the other boot in a match and Brunzell was wearing the other boot in his matches. of course the Sheik was pissed and they battled across the Mid Atlantic area for the boot and the belt. Good times...good times.
