Skoda is CZECH!!! Germans only bought it! Czechs helping VW group with engines and many other things... For example, Skoda completely develops 1.2 HTP engines in theirs development centres. And thats the most common engine at VW group! So we have some share on VW engine technologies too! And I only speak about engines, in other technologies, skoda is very inovative brand too!

Die ganze Motorentechnik stammt aus Wolfsburg.

Das DSG Getriebe von ZF Friedrichshafen. Klar das Teil wird in CZ gebaut. Wer aber mal vor der Fabrik auf dem Schild schaut sieht wem der Laden gehört VW!!

Skoda is more independent than you think and a very good investment for VW. To say its a 100% VW would be quite inaccurate. Skoda has its own development centre and many innovations are local. Some features are shared in the VW family and as Skoda got some things from VW I have to very insisting that VW has as well taken so many things from the Skoda. Czech engineering abilities are high. If anything, VW is known to hold skoda not to make too many innovations not to hurt the VW brand in sales
