Just noticed in the video around 6:40 you can see daylight in between the stock and the upper of the rifle! Is it made that way or is it just a bad fit?
I liked your vid. Just one thing, your groups will improve if you maintain your stock weld and follow through on each shot.. You were clearly peeking at your shots. Let your cheek ride the stock back to your next sight picture.
Your trigger control looked good! Thanks for the vid!
I notice you have the same problem i do when you shoot, i shoot and then immediately look up, it throws ur accuracy off, try keep looking through the sight and follow through with the shot.
Thanks so much for these videos! Good to see a proper 'shooting style review' rather than all these suppressive fire vids. Also, what ammo brand are you using?
One trick on anything with a hefty recoil is to lean forward as much as you can and be comfortable enough to keep your aim steady. It'll help tremendously.
instead of sliding the ammo back into the magazine when loading it I find its easyer to push them straight down from the top, thats how I was taught to do it anyways, might be a little easyer for you.
These Socom rifles are pretty nifty. They look real badass! I have only shot a full sized M1A variant. Gotta agree, they do have some hefty kick... require a bit of time between shots. Can't imagine them on full auto... That 7.62x51 round can REALLY reach out and touch your target, though. I'd love to give your rifle a whirl at 3 or 4 hundred yards. Makes me miss the one I sold! Cheers!
Nice rifle. I like the vids with just straight up shooting for accuracy. That's what we really want to see is how well it can put the rounds down range. No way to really simulate war or battle circumstances but accuracy can be tested.
Love that rifle. After a little practice my shot groups improved dramatically using iron sights. Saving for the right scope to see what I can do. Any suggestions? 500m goal
@blaquepatriot check out trijicon . com they have some cool options. I am personally leaning towards an aim point red dot. With the M1a you have to think about the eye relief and make sure you get a scope that is for 7.62/.308. Let me know when you pull the trigger, would love to see what you get.
@sunfloweroutdoor From all the reviews I've seen I think you are right about Aimpoint being the optic of choice for the M1A. I'm still not wanting to spend that kind of money for a 1X optic. I could spend the same and get a 1911.
Its about time that somebody took this rifle to an outdoor range and did a range review on the performance of this rifle. Good video by the way. Your shot group may improve if you dont break break your check weld after every shot. Good job bro. Keep up the good work. Wannasee another vid but put target out 100- 200 yards if working with iron sights.
@MrSwitchz You can bet your bottom dollar we will be back at the range shooting 100-200 yards. I wanted to this last time but time was short as always. Thank you so much for your support and keep checking in.
You really need to shoot this baby at an outdoor range with the right 7.62x51 NATO round. Indoor range with fragmentation rounds will only jammed up this rifle. The problem is where I live I have to drive over 50 miles to my nearest outdoor range just to have fun with my Socom II. One of the many down sides living in a large city.
i am not impressed with the rifle at all. you are better off with a - mac 90 spotter ). and the gun its self is just a shit design. a 7.62x49 kicks like a m-16 in the AK-47...
I dont know about those specific mags but have you tried placing the round on top and pushing it down past the feed lips? It should snap right in instead of having to wedge them in from the front...If Im right it will amke loading A LOT easier, but I dotn own this rifle or load these mags so maybe it doesnt work like that, Im just going by my AK mags...

you need to put a grip on that sucker to help you out with that kick.
S1lverwing 7 months ago
@S1lverwing That would require a whole new stock....good thing they make those.

@MavHunter20XX I meant a fore grip . You could attach it to the rail.

i never seen someone load m1a/m14 magazines like that. is it wrong to just push them straight down? similar to what a stripper clip would do?

for 3 minutes i watched how you load magazines

you know you can just set the round on top of the feed lips on the mag and push down to load it instead of pushing down then back...
also what ammo did you use?

I love the sights on this rifle. Don't know if I'd ever want any optics on it.

I'm looking forward to buying a loaded m1a. I considered the socom 2 and 16, but I decided that the full size barrel would benifite me more.

you're also a guy that likes to go out there and wear yellow lenses like a pro.

@sunfloweroutdoor Actually with a little time and effort you can tune the piston/gas system to work with frangible rounds.
