@tristanshigh132 Well he wraps it in towels because, the method to fixing RROD is by overheating the console's motherboard even more and then letting it sit and cool off for a while. Then it works again. However I would suggest letting the console sit more then 15 minutes and the best way to do this is by opening the consol, isolating the motherboard, overheating the motherboard's CPU and parts in it directly with a drying hair blower and reassembling the console. Then it truly works again!!!

The towel trick does work, but most people don't know why.

What happens is usually RROD is caused by the shitty job Microsoft did with soldering the GPU and CPU, so they become disconnected from other circuitry. What the towel does is insulates the system and somewhat re-flows the soldering, completing the circuit.

I have heard from several people that have done this.. ruined there xbox even more.. if you still have the warranty just send it in and get if repair for free.. it's not gonna kill you to not play xbox for a little while..and if you don't have a warranty just look up a guide and fix it in a sensible way your self...
