how the fuck can this band be Swedish? "Theos tou aimatos" is Greek and it means "God of blood" and the album name "Exthros" means "Enemy"... fucking nice song btw...
Sorry to ask but how do you know they are from Sweden? The title is actually from my language written with Latin characters and it's like this: "Θεός του Αίματος" which means "God Of Blood". The album's name is also another example of this, written like: "Εχθρός" which means "Enemy", are you sure they are Swedish? No offense dude
I wish Algaion went with something more reminiscent of their Vox Clamentis and Oimai Algeiou albums. This almost seems like a completely different band. it just doesn't have the same feeling.
Nevermind. "Exthros" means "enemy". Pretty badass! Good thing my dad knows Ancient Greek, and can reference it with bible in Ancient Greek...Wow, my list of "languages to learn" is getting big...
Out of curiosity, does anyone know what "Exthros" means? I've tried many different Greek translators and none of them come up with anything. I'll keep looking around, I'm just wondering........
Could someone please explain to me what Atmospheric Black Metal is...well Atmospheric Metal in general. I feel like an idiot for asking, but I feel like an idiot for not knowing....thanks!
@MrChaos667 It's difficult to say because it's such a vague genre. It's basically what it sounds like; Metal that focuses HEAVILY on atmosphere over everything else. That can be anything from music themes of nature, darkness, or just music that invokes a feeling of surrounding dread or melancholy. This genre is heavily influenced and mixed with other genres such as Gothic, Doom & Symphonic Metal. I hope that helps you a bit.
@xSwampKalmah Cool, I guess I will just examine the genre further. I love to explore new genres, even though I am into mainly horror punk/psychobilly, I love me some metal lol.
@MrChaos667 Atmospheric Black Metal is Black Metal which follows in the footsteps of Burzum and Darkthrone. Often, long repetitive songs, heavily based in chords and tremolo picking, as opposed to riffing and such. Keyboards are also sometimes present. Good examples of the style would be Drudkh and Angantyr, as well as Hades, Aurvandil, Arizmenda, Infestus [to an extent]... This, on the other hand, is really, really not Atmospheric Black Metal in any way. Nor is it very good.

@ZombieWolfPack122890 we greeks have our own alphabet, so typing "εχθρός" would be more effective than typing "exthros"

@redl3ss Yeah, it's just I don't think my computer has the right application to type in other languages. XP
