Right ok! i recently commented on ur supreme commander rush video. I hate this rush i really do. But after watching ur vid i thought about testing out upgrading the ACU and it actualy is a gr8 weapon. it has Defended me against this rush and therfore i cant dismis Upgrading the ACU.
If anyone is a good enough player and can co-ordinate as a proper team then they should have no problem dealing with this.
Personaly ive found AIR units to be quite usefull against the ACU rush when in a team
i can see one major start to shutting down the acu rush and i dont even play that game. Just like zerg rushes or any rush, on a multi-player map you work together. a simple bottleneck defense or something. It looks like tentr0n is just too damned leet for anyone to try to stand-against, le-sigh.
ctually thats SCA, re-enactments. no role-play, well..if ya want it its there but for the most part its fighting in armour and sticks. And yes tentr0n yer leet. I saw when you and yer crew came up with or found that acu rush like as the game was being put into the stores. um, giving you props, so..here..have some props.
@rabidsmurf2 im just busting your balls...ive been to a couple ren fairs and I've seen it there. tbh...it is pretty cool to watch. I saw these two knights in full armor swinging like crazy at each other....im mean it was fake...but it was kinda real. One of the knights dented the others armor and it almost started a real fist fight.
you should dual weld....a dagger and a short sword.
@TenTr0n Well if we are talking real SCA heavy fighting, it's quite real. Sure the weapons are basically sticks with tape around to soften them but the blows are full strength - I have some friends who are into it and well... while it's obviously not lethal it can hurt like hell and leave your body black and blue after a fight.
a good acu rusher who doesn't let himself be back into a corner is a bitch to kill . base swap? base swap!? hes gonna base swap into ur base which is all the way across the map right next to your 3 allies? hes gonna be out of resources seeing as he spent them all trying to take you down and building his beginning base. and in the end if the acu rusher knows what hes doing he cant really be killed. even if he does lose his acu the time he bought for his team mates has won the game.
Basically the reason why it is considered a grief/exploit/OP tactic is basically cause the Commander is available from the very beginning, and yet is exponentially stronger than anything else in the early stages of battle.
Basically to fix this problem would involve making the Commander into a unit only capable of light attacking in the early stages, making all the upgrades universally more expensive, making the early upgrades less effective, i.e. nanites come too early.
And when you say that a counter to it is taking out the ACU rusher's base, that's not particularly true because:
1) You get most of your RP from their structures
2) Your commander is already much stronger than anything available at this stage in the game, you would need a large army or a couple experimentals to take out an upgraded ACU.
3) You cripple the entire enemy team pretty much, so even if they take you out, they are gonna get raped by your team because your team wasn't crippled.
Problem is with this strategy is the extreme speed that it works at, almost every other strategy requires at least a few minutes of setup time if you want any kind of mid or end game, you could always go for an uber quick rush strategy, but that might cripple your mid and end games, as you will hit a brick wall in terms of resource production/usage. You could say though, that if your teammates are any good, they would have units on you by mid game.
@SgtMustang Great summary of this tactic. The counters to this tactic are situational and there is no set way to beat it. You have to feel out each rush as its own
@TenTr0n But then again, is there any point to beating it, because you will be so setback from the ACU's attack you wont even be able to compete with the ACU rushers team.
Lol, emo nerd rage.

@TenTr0n I think actually a very universal tactic would be build a fact, give it shields and the tac launcher, put shield, build pd
Build mmls with the fact
solved.
