I think this section showcases just how state of the art Frankie HIll actually _was_, before he blew his knees out. Remember that Hensley's kickflips wouldn't be public for another 3-4 months
the day I saw Vallely's section teaser (9:17-:9:25
) on "Incredible Sunday", my life changed.
PS Danny G, you've got all the control, flow and balance a pro could want. Now go buy larger pants, lol.
Man this vid takes me back. The days of no cell phones, email or other computer shit. Super mario bros on NES. Skating all day with my friends trying to learn new tricks. Not a care in the world.
tell me about it bud... i'm almost 35 and my first deck was a yellow Powell Rip with clear grip tape, well, my first deck that i paid for anyway. my first hand me down was either a G&S Billy Ruff or a Vision Old Ghost... i can't remember wjich for sure...
@diceman1000 oh yeah, clear grip tape was cool lol. I had my Vision Shredder then Vision Joe Johnson....i'd give anything to go back to playing NES, skating, riding my bmx bike around with my friends....
@ashalchi The only good thing about the internet and computers is that we can re visit this stuff and talk to like minded souls around the world about how spoilt the y generation is, sitting back telling us how outdated it all is, we were there for the new world of skating and music, we deserve this, they dont. they cant even have an opinion when everything has been on tap for them ever since birth... Stay true man, and I still play my nintendo and sega master systems, I dont need fancy graphics
@1asotspla the kids these days will never have the excitement we had when we played our Atari 2600 and then went wild for the NES....it's not the same anymore, it was a special time. Back then things were really appreciated by kids, now even the most complex devices are taken for granted....Casio calculator / phone dialer watch / watch that tells the Temp, walkie talkies etc?!...cool stuff back then. We had the best music and movies back then too.
@ashalchi We were the start of the new Tech, so we were stoked, its sad that the kids expect everything to be stylized and cool, when we were always underground with cool stuff, even fluro pens made me excited, nice to know we are still alive and stand proud as the X Gen.
i never want to see a person try to figure skate on a skateboard. ITS A SIN AGAINST NATURE!!
