This actually fits in with the plot. Think about it. She says her chance line is very short. In the next seen she has badluck when she encounters the small man to whom she owes money.

That's my favorite scene in "Pierrot le Fou", but they should've translated "ta ligne de hanche" to "your waist-line" instead of "thigh-line". Would've made a little more sense.
