I'm gonna get thumbs down for agreeing with you, but story-wise, yeah. It seemed like the game would make more sense if it seemed like it was after the movie. I mean it's not that hard to figure out that Po did win against him anyway, but the question of the movie and any story answers is how the characters did what they did.
