@haridham eating meat is not a bad karma. as humans we need to eat food for our physical survival. But as we are conscious beings we have choice, not like animals. Most of the animals eaten have 5 senses and when they die they are so terrified that the levels of epinephrine and nor epinephrine are so high in their cells. when these meat is consumed the human beings are restless and full of anger and rage. There is a scientific basis for not eating meat. But we eat meat for fun.

Muhammad rarely ate meat, nor did Imam Ali. The excuse by nafs driven "Muslims" that this was because they were poor is total crap. Imam Ali was the leader of the Islamic Empire and could have eaten meat every day if he wanted to, he didn't because he didn't want to! Today so called "Muslims" have made eating meat the six pillar of Islam, and by doing so have straight far away from the Sunnah of the Prophet.

If people would really understand what Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, taught, they would be vegan. But unfortunately so few understand. It is a very sad thing...sacrificing an animal is contrary to Islam's real teaching. Actually Islam is all about compassion and love.

All muslims should watch how meat is made halal, and if you really belong to a religion of peace then they can not continue to accept halal meat. but i have never gotten any good arguments or explanations regarding islam being a religion of peace, violence is every where in islam. it spread with violence, it exists thru violence. and muslims dont read, especailly arabs, so they will never be open to new ideas or tolerance. they are animals themselves.

Meat is meat no matter what you eat, muslims only sacrifice weaker animals because they are defenceless try sacrifising a lion or a elephant.

the sacrificing of animals during the muslim festival is one of the most horrifying things I have ever lived to see.Animals treated like sacks of rocks until the day of slaughter.Blood everywhere and people burning the animal heads in the streets laughing and screaming.If the prophet would see this he would be opposed to such atrocity.You seem like intelligent people,and I you know that there is no need for animal suffering of any kind.Why people can sacrifice the greediness,selfishness instead.

A Vegan uses 300 gal of water per day, meat eater 4,000 gal a day. It takes 18x more energy used to produce a single calorie of meat rather than a vegetable. 900 million people per year are malnourished, 50 million people starve to death per year, mostly children under 5 yrs old. If 10% of the US alone went Vegan there would be enough food to feed all the starving people of the planet. Tell me God would approve of how we destroy/waste the "gifts" he has given. Which diet would God respect more?

Sorry, after being impressed with this video I saw the Youtube clip (search on it) "Meet your Meat - The Barbarity of Halal Slaughter" It's not enough to say "it's okay not to do this". You have to say "This is absolutely unacceptable!" That's like saying "There's no requirement to rape" or "You don't have to if you feel strongly you don't want to." That's not religion. A religion has to torture is unacceptable. Why isn't Islam up in arms against this? Did you hear the baby calves cry?
