I wonder what kind of materials are used in the planes construction to keep the rear section with the turbine from spontaniously combusting when the turbine is spooled up?

Excellent video, that's the first time i have ever seen an RC Plane go through the clouds but this pilot did multiple times.....I have watched a helluva alot of videos with rc helis too, but none never in the clouds.....AMAZINGGGGGG!!!! For me this is like seeing Wright Brother take off for the first time.

Depending on the type of cloud, it's nothing too special. We had low cloud here a couple of times that I managed to fly up and into with a small, brushless profile foam plane. It was high, but not THAT high.

Beautiful plane. The airbase at my hometown used to be the base for U-2s.

And I think the shape and color scheme are correct for NASA version, I've seen the photo somewhere.

However, if it's fitted with an electric motor which can be switch on/off in the air, so it can glide as it should be, maybe that would be even better? :)

Ok, one I took the missile comment offensive.  I know a lot of people that worked with the U-2 and knew Powers. So sorry if I offended anyone. Besides Powers was in a U-2A not the R model that is depicted here in the video.

your an idiot do your homework if you noticed on the virtical stabilizer that it had the 4 letters "NASA" its not a spy plane in that model but for studying the trace radiation for "the big bang theory" amongst other things

listen moron i have been around the NASA U-2s and ER-2s my whole life. I know more about these birds than any of you. so i know about the big bang theory and all the projects NASA conducts with the ER-2s. This version in the video is the ER-2. it was built in the early 80s to replace the aging U-2C model which retired in 1989. so dont call me an idiot. my first comment was on the paint job. the ER-2 had a gray belly on it.
