Holmgren had his helmet on. What a wimp. Fotiu got good shots in; if Holmgren didn't have his helmet on he would have lost this fight to Fotiu just like he got clobbered the first time they fought. This one was a draw.

again..... not sure if you were alive at this time, but there was NO notion among fighters at this time to take helmets off for fights; please produce ONE instance of this time period where players took their helmets off to fight. When guys started cutting their hands on visors -- then there was an expectation guys with visors should remove their helmets. But no, you're right, wimps like Larry Playfair, Bob Probert, Dave Brown, Dave Richter, Jim Kyte.... helmet wearing sissies. Are you 14??

I was 14 then. The Flyers were the broad-street bullies and it was always nice to see guys like Fotiu on the ice to put them in their place.

Fotiu was very tough; unfortunately he didn't have a willingness to do this work nearly often enough, which is why the Rangers shipped him off.... into obscurity really. Terrible shame watching him play in Hartford and especially Calgary.
