Nice. It's good to see other people's interpretation of Chito-ryu bassai. Sharp and clean. Just a few small differences from when I was doing Chito-ryu in Nova Scotia. I have no clue what they look like now that Higashi Sensei has split from Soke Sensei.
Did you start in Chito-ryu, or did you come from a different background? Some of the movements look like Shotokan transitions I've seen, especially the foot sweeping at the end, where instead of an arc, they transit straight across.
Thank you for commenting my kata. I start karaté in 1990 in Chito-Ryu style with Kyoshi Jean-Noel Blanchette, the technical director of Chito-Ryu in Quebec at that time.
You are certainly welcome. I know of JN Blanchette, and he was around early enough to have trained extensively with Tsuruoka Sensei, which would explain the slight shotokan look.
Enjoy your weekend and please keep the videos coming. I really like seeing them on here. 15 years ago, I collected many, many videos of people doing kata so I could learn where the Chito-ryu kata came from. It took me years. Now, it can be done in just a few days. :)

Pretty good rendition of Bassai. I like the clean, crisp looking movements.
