This history means a lot to me and I love the beliefs of this church. Having said that, this song has to be the most processed song I have ever heard. Sounds as if the whole thing was autotuned. Yuck.
The Book of Mormon is a volume of holy scripture comparable to the Bible and is a record of God's dealings with His chosen people in the New World. The main purpose of the Book of Mormon is "to the convincing of Jew and Gentile that JESUS is the CHRIST, the ETERNAL GOD, manifesting himself unto all nations." (Book of Mormon Title Page) It was written by ancient American prophets for our day (Mormon 8:35) and is an American testament of the Lord Jesus Christ.
@chainsticks88 why the rudeness? it will only make you guys look bad don't you think? we are all different even in religion but we all believe in Christ. i understand that there is something you don't like but remember the parable of the Good Samaritan and study it carefully and if it be ok add this which Jesus said:
1 John 4:20 "If a man say I love God and hateth his brother he is a liar for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen how can he love God whom he hath not seen?" so is 21^^
@chaisensei Its been proven time and time again by so many people who God sent out to help expose the mormons for being lying and deceitful, using Jesus Christ name on the mormons so called church as instructed by satan and the prophet of satan joseph smith, to try and lure Gods children away so that we can all follow satan and his mormon children.. lds stands for lucifers demonicservants
@makingaccountforyou whoa there! no need to be rude ^^ idk why the rudeness but we live in a free country aren't we? and isn't it much better to think that the Lord has not forgotten us and is still communicating to us through a prophet like He did in the bible and we still get our own personal revelation from Him too not just the LDS but also you and everyone else. after all we are still sons and daughters of God aren't we? we may have differences but God is no respecter person and love us all
@NewRepMan In the womb of despair And the ruin once so fair Once blue skies over head Gather gray now with dread in my mind, in my head Big skies heal my pain Butterflies brighten the rains Throw me into the fray at the end of the day I will not be afraid There is no hope on stormy seas There is no boat, Oh take me please Take me back to my home A wayfaring man who walks alone Have I grown? Am I alone?
@NewRepMan Warm skies heal my pain Butterflies brighten the rain Throw me into the fray at the end of the day I will not be afraid This is my dawn My new day The final song Trust hope I pray Through the trials comes the faith to drown my fear Warm skies heal my pain Butterflies brighten the rain Throw me into the fray at the end of the day I will not be afraid
Like I said before....you're free to believe what you will but let me just point out that Satan leads men to sin and destroy other people. I've never met a mormon who's ever been on a mission for satan. When you see how much these people really want to help people come to Christ...maybe you will change your mind but if it's what you want...just believe mormons are from satan. That doesn't make it true.
Thank you so much for posting this, I listen to it every time I need something to draw me to the Spirit, it strengthens me to think on Brother Joseph and how he gave up so much to bear testimony of the Saviour Jesus Christ and to draw us closer to Him.
Biblical archaeology can be studied because we do know where Jerusalem and Jericho were and are, but we do not know where Zarahemla and Bountiful (nor any location for that matter) were and are...a concentration on geography would be the first order of business, but we have already seen that twenty years of such an approach has left us empty handed."
Dialogue, op. cit. Summer 1969, pp. 77-78. Mormon Archaeologist Professor Dee. F. Green.
You're not very religious are you Mr. Sticks? lol. It's interesting to note that you're the only poster on this site using profanity. What you've said so far says volumes about the type of person you are. The way others have responded says a lot about who they are. An interesting distinction to note: The non-mormon is the only poster out of control. Hopefully no one will characterize non-mormons by the example you've set.
The First Presidency has often been asked to prepare some suggestive map illustrative of Nephite geography but have never consented to do so. Nor are we acquainted with any of the Twelve Apostles who would undertake such a task. The reason is, that without further information, they are not prepared even to suggest (a map). The word of the Lord or the translation of other ancient records is required to clear up many points now so obscure...."
"The church emphasizes the doctrinal and historical value of the Book of Mormon, not its geography. While some Latter-day Saints have looked for possible locations ... there are no conclusive connections between the Book of Mormon text and any specific site.
In 1993, in response to a query from the Foundation for Ancient Research and Mormon Studies, the office of the First Presidency faxed a statement, which reads in part:
In the quasi-official Encyclopedia of Mormonism, the production of which was overseen by Elders Dallin H. Oaks and Neal A. Maxwell of the Quorum of the Twelve, we find the following: "The church has not taken an official position with regard to location of geographical places (in the Book of Mormon)."
Before we can intelligently discuss supposed Book of Mormon anachronisms we need to explore the possible New World location for Book of Mormon events. A geographic model will help set the background for understanding many of the future articles in this series. First, however, some significant facts must be addressed to properly examine this topic.

Beautiful! Joseph was a brave man, a prophet of God, an example to us all! We can admire and praise him for all that he did and suffer. No one will ever fully comprehend what he brought to earth. Praising in that sense, does not mean we pray him. We pray to God in the name of Jesus Christ. Our savior is Jesus Christ and Joseph Smith was his prophet!
Honestly, I have a hard time when a church claiming to be the true church constantly professes that Christ is head of their church and yet have a "hymn" titled "Praise to the Man", a song about praising Joseph Smith. Who are LDS really praising? It's ambiguous, at best.
The Lord Jesus Christ has chosen Prophets as mouthpieces since the beginning of the world. Joseph Smith is no more than a man giving a special calling just as Moses or Abraham. He was called to be a Prophet in these last days to help guide us to Jesus Christ. In and only through the Holy Messiah can we be saved by faith on His name and by following His commandments. It is because of the Prophets that we have Scripural evidence of Christ in these days. There were prophets then, and now. Truth
That's awesome that you can see that even though you're not religious. Thanks for being open-minded. It means a lot that some people are still willing to do that.
In a time where on of the largest churches on earth has leaders who ARE molesting and HAVE molested young children we need rock solid men like these great Prophets. In the LDS church those "leaders" would be excommunicated. They'd have the chance to repent and one day return to church, but not back to their earlier role. They'd just be normal members again. You condemn a man by lies and double talk, yet I don't see you making the same effort against those in the news today. Does truth scare you?
that I am. However I do believe in this church, in the Book of Mormon as a testament of Jesus Christ, the Bible for the same reason, and the Joseph Smith and the men who followed him were and ARE prophets of God. They are not gods, simply men giving of their time and efforts in a world where material wealth is valued so much more than faith in God. We do put these men on pedastals, because we believe that they speak for God in a time where evil grabs at us from ever possible direction.
I really can't stand human nature. It's not a good, or brave thing to condemn someone based on lies and bias from the mouth of others. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, that in itself COMPLETELY discredits your hateful lies against the man. I have experienced FOR MYSELF, not because someone else said it, the Holy Spirit touching my life and my family and helping us through very tough times since I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm not perfect, and I would never say
The mormons better stop portraying this blasphemous dirtbag prophet of satan as if he were Jesus Christ... you see mormons theres a difference, Jesus rose from the grave on the 3rd day, smiths rotted body is still in his grave over 150yrs later.. get the picture
