  • Actually it looks very much like it´s the fault of the guy with the blue jacket on the shore, that helps to hold the boat: he actually pushes and lifts the boat. The boat begins exactly to shift after he begins to stand up. It´s like he did it on purpose... and I can not think that a problem of oars not locked could lead to something like that.

  • Rowing that's it xDD

  • Comment removed

  • this must have been a prank...

  • haha how do you flip an 8 lol!!!!!!!!!

  • haha my eight last year tried to flip it at summer camp and we couldn't

  • best idea for entering water is for the water side to get in first (generall stroke) and bow side to hold down the riggers whilst stroke lock their oars in...

  • wow that takes skill. Our varsity boat actually tried to flip during a hot practice day, but with out everyone helping, we couldn't get it...

our crew team got in differently, we got in with all ports, then all starboards. I personally think it's stupid and doesn't make a difference, but that's what our coach said to do.

  • so ewigs penilich !

  • their coach was like "bunch of fkn idiots...I quit"

  • They flipped cos their gates weren't done up.

  • god they must have real bad balance to cap an 8...

  • Ahahaha I can see how you could compete! Rowing my ass! bring my sexy diving back. At least I know who lost that day:)

  • haha schoolboy error

  • you gotta be some kinda stupid to filp an 8.

  • @rowlogbro101 agreed with passion :)

  • @rowlogbro101 YEP ^^ :D

  • they all got in at the same time, no pressure on the stroke side?

  • lol, how?

  • one of the worst and humiliating things that can happen, i didnt know before that it was possible :P

  • you are patetic

  • MDR!!!!

Oui la honte, en effet! ( merci d'avoir filmé ca!!!)

  • HAHAHA

  • The bowside (starboard) oars are not locked in their gates. You can see them pop up as the boat tips and they are clearly floating free once the shell is over. A case for strokeside to hold riggers while bowside close their gates....?

  • lol it doesn't really matter if you hold your oars when you get in the boat.. i'm on a four boat bow loader and it never tips even when i don't hold the oar as i get in

  • i've watche this about 20 times and cant see how the hell the did it. all the oars are locked and none of them let go. only thing is the guy in the blue jacket, i honestly think he tipped them

  • The gates arent locked

  • How do you even do that. Mad skills.

    rofl

  • omg yall flipped an 8 yall need to die haha

  • look at the guy who pushes them off the dock in the blue jacket, it looks like he lifts the shell up.

  • dude, the ports all have their oarlocks closed, but none of the starboards do.

  • Çok klas...

  • stumpers

  • ROOFL dont let go of your handles fools

  • We never lock our oars before we get in, I can't imagine how you can flip an eight like that.

  • It takes a lot of skill to flip an 8+. No wonder they're cheering.

  • haha dus er zijn meer stuurlieden die dit overkomt :-)

  • they want to close there oars but the coach did't hold the boat.. it was an mistake from the coach, not the rowers

  • it was a mistake from the bow man. He shuffled in his seat and let go of his oar. The others obviously didn't help, though!

  • No it was a mistake from the cox. i was there to.

  • One man can't flip a boat. lol.

  • het kwam door de stuur..

die hield de boot niet meer vast..

  • haha the oars are floating away!! :P

  • I've never gotten in an 8 another way and we havent flipped in my 3 years of rowing. Thats the only way to get in unless you do a standing shove. Most you are idiots and probably havent rowed before and youre shooting off your mouth. If the STARBOARD, aka, the people who row with thier oars on their left dont snug their oarlocks then the oars pop out and they do in fact flip. I have done this once in a double cause the same reason ( I was port). Dont talk 'less you know what you're talkin about

  • I'd just like to point out that this is definitely NOT Birmingham RC!

  • all of the starbord oars werent locked in!!

  • how do even the novi-est of novice flip an 8? hehehe

  • fucking retards... the boat just gets filled with water...idiots

  • i've done that in a 4 cuz i wasnt holding on my oar but we didnt flip. it did take us an hour to drain our boat and get it to the boat house

  • lol... must be noobs with a noob coach

  • omfg what gimps how retarded can u get

  • BAHAAHHAHAHHAHAHAAAA!!!! lol

  • my first time on the water when i started crew we flipped our boat and river rescue had to come help us

  • 0_0

    they were already in

how do you tip an 8 like that lol?!?

  • i had to look like 4 times before i noticed that almost none of them are holding their oars.

  • only bow seat was...poor people...but they are sooo retarded! i have never flipped and 8! :]

  • Hahahaha! Real smooooth!

  • Really terrible... Maybe it's their first time... Stupid.. I have rowed for 2 years and have never done that.. Jerks..

  • lol, some guys are stupid i dont know

i am rowing for 3 years now, not much but enough for knowing how to enter correctly into a boat

  • god, they didn`t even put the starboard blades in!

  • it was the port blades that wernt in...just to let u know :]

  • The port blades are on the oarsman's RIGHT because he faces the stern of the boat. Those were the starboard blades that weren't locked in.

  • Did anyone notice that they forgot to secure the oars in the oarlocks? Getting in at the same time never results in an 8+ flipping, it is the right way and the only way to load an 8+.

  • that's the first 8 i've ever, ever seen tipped

  • Idiots, they should of held their oars if they were all going in at the same time.

  • You are not meant to get in all at once. In their cas bow side should have got in first, hold the boat level and then wait for stroke side to get in and then finally the cox. Idiots.

  • Yes, you're right. The additional static weight of the bow side in the boat will make it much less likely to flip. I've seen this a few times on the Cam, also when people get out of the boat.

  • what idiots

  • NICE

  • how do you tip an 8!!!!

im anovie rower and we havent even tipped an 8

  • ur supposed to get in at once they just forgot to hold on to the oars

  • Why did you all try and get in at once?!?! Bloody germans! Always have to do things more efficiently than everyone else!!! Well look at you know ,you're all wet! HAHA!!

  • you are suspposed to get in all at once and they're dutch
