the only question i have is exactly what audio samples do people use? like people like Daedelus.... i want to make songs like him but NO songs have samples that sound good
i want to buy one of these, and im probably going to. But i need more info on them, one question i have is whats with the 40h stuff, i see them all the time but i have no idea what they mean.
@pwnslayerss it's basically a programmable interface that consists of a grid of buttons that are lit by led's. you can hook it up to tons of different music apps.
oh, actually when i watch it again, obviously the vocal samples were from somewhere else as was maybe one other loop, but i mean, i guess that's how versatile mlr is?
you don't "get apple loops" to work with MLR. MLR is an application that runs in the Max/MSP runtime environment, which you can get for free. It takes a lot more technical prowess to set it up than dumbed down garage band crap, but once you get it rolling its amazing.
you have samples preloaded for each song, so you just cycle through the samples as your set progresses. if you'd like to see someone who uses a monome masterfully live, i suggest attending one of daedelus' wonderful shows.
you can save/load different sets of samples if you wanted to do more than one song--it's not necessarily impossible. keep in mind that much of the software isn't as polished as, say... live or whatever, so do have to be pretty resourceful

@samanferrari i don't know, i really wish they weren't.
smoovebert 1 year ago
@samanferrari i think its got to do with monome's eco-friendly, made in america, comes in a hand printed box attributes.
notepadsucks 11 months ago
@samanferrari because they are made from materials they find close to where they live, they are handmade, and the quality is exceptional.
