@cwmillerrn I'm not sure Dr. Paul is my candidate, or anyone is at this point. I think I'll wait and see who comes out in the nomination and who might challenge Obama in the Dem party.. I'd also like to see a third party candidate jump in.
not to support any wild conspiracy theory but yes it does absolutely matter IF the us government was lying about info they either knew or manufactured..OF COURSE it matters...it's bad enough we're in iraq and afghanistan still, we need some clarity and truth, if he died before, we should have been told. now wikileaks is all we have to count on to break stories
@betamaxdc There are many ways to look at this story. You can focus on a dead body or you can focus on the changes that may come about with the message that Bin Laden is dead.
@Boomer1949 You are on to something with that last statement. I have honestly been suspicious about this whole thing from the moment I heard that OBL's body was thrown overboard. I don't think that is unreasonable at all. Our government has lied to us plenty of times. I just watched "The Most Dangerous Man in America" and the Gulf of Tonkin is a prime example. One theory is: OBL dead, radicals pissed, increased threat level, increased defense contracts...there's one money maker.
(continued) Money isn't the only motivator, Boomer. Power is also a motivator. Our constitution is in jeopardy. Americans are so sadly willing to trade safety for freedom and liberty. To quote Oracle "What do all men with power want? More power."
@cwmillerrn So far there has been no new demands on our freedoms that I've read or hear on TV. No talk of attacking Pakistan, only cutting off their foreign aid. If it's a power grab, again I'm not seeing that either. A slight bump in ratings for Obama, something to put in Obama's library but in no way assures his reelection. If gas prices stay the same and unemployment doesn't improve and taxes aren't raised on the rich, then I see the campaign getting ugly and a close call.
@Boomer1949 The TSA violates the 4th amendment of about 40,000 Americans daily as they perform random illegal searches without warrants. Since May Day this article on check points appeared. I cannot put up links here so Google this article title: "Expert: Security Checkpoints Near Soft Targets May Soon Become The Norm." Raegan said "As government expands, liberty contracts."
@cwmillerrn Yes of course they don't always tell the whole story or even the real story, depending on the gain from lieing but in this case it's the truth. More and more is coming out from other nations, other people who were there in the room when he was shot, that validates what we've been told. Al Quida put out a statement. Papers in Pakistan are printing interviews from people who were there and after the US Seals left. I still don't see any money connection yet.
Actually, no, it does not matter. Because the wars will continue. I have lost all sense of pride. I feel disgusted - and this is nothing against YOU boomer. In fact, I feel very sad, because in the end, we're all in the same boat. - As far as no money being made as a result of this. There are going to be many, many military contracts in order to expand operations in Pakistan as a result of this. I'm almost certain. Almost. You and I agree on many issues, so no war between us :)
@55ella2007k I don't think there will be a expansion of the wars. In fact I believe this opens the door to bringing home the troops from Afghanistan. For one thing we can't afford to expand any war and we certainly can't afford anymore nation building. If this opens the door to using intelligence and special ops to fight terrorist. The "war on terror" is done.
Boomer,I herd thay might release the dead Bin Laten photos, that would be interesting.anyone have any news on that. How about the video? could you imagine seeing his death on youtube?
I, too, was kind of amazed at the number and type of comments the other video got. I've become very skeptical of almost all the government tells me thru the Mainstream Media, but on this I think the truth is .. BIN LADEN is dead. Obama and his staff are only about 1.5 gazillion time smarter than Bush and his cronies were. How stupid would he have to be to try to "fake" an incident like this, and why? He could continue bumbling along, as Bush did, not finding the guy and no one would take note.
@lstntn It's also important to note that the Boogieman Osama is dead. They can't use that name to scare people, or tapes. Plus the way they did this opens the question as to why they don't continue to use this method and bring the troops home. People worried about the budget would love that, reduce the military budget and still be more than effective at fighting terrorist. Win Win.
I think the government has lied and done so many underhanded things (some that we only learn about years later with the release of declassified documents, etc.) that many people have just become uber cynical and do not believe ANYTHING, even when the evidence is there to support it.
@CMLovejoy They said they would release what was appropriate after everything is reviewed. As for the body, no one asked to see it before when all the rumors were flying around.
@Boomer1949 i know, it is getting heated about people wanting to see the body of him, i mean really? well they are gonna show a picture of him, so give me a break, good one boomer
Boomer, I forgot to ask...are you ready to campaign for Ron Paul again? Exciting election cycle coming up. Time to get back to your roots.
