Noticed you've got the laces at about 35° right. I assume it's so that the 'meat' of the leather contacts the foot without hitting the seam. Goofy thing I used to do (I was a purely amateur punter, but had a lot of fun with it) was use the bottom seam to create direction to my kicks. Punted barefoot too, which usually got me some strange looks. hehe
