Basically the point in getting the cape is for total completion and the achievement. Personally, I would do it just so I could walk into a city, hire some fuckin badass merks, then fucking kick some ass for about 30 minutes. Make sure you got some spare medicine in your inventory. @mrsnuf1234 Google feather locations for assassin's creed 2. Also you should be able to check what cities you have collected all the feathers in by checking your secondary memories in the DNA section of the menu. Hope this helps.

@mrsnuf1234 Go to the menu by pressing start. Click DNA. Move RIGHT through the memories until you get to secondary memories. You should find a memory marked Feathers. Click it. It should give you a subset of cities that you have been through, the number of feathers that exist in the cities, and the number of feathers in each city that you have collected.

I know why the auditore cape makes you notorious. The auditore family is linked to the assassins and when giovanni(ezio's dad) was executed, the auditore family was wanted. Dont wear the cape unless you want to be badass.

If you collect some feathers and then look at a feather map guide, it's hard to know which ones you have already collected, so you have to backtrack for every one. So in essence, it saves you a hell of a lot of time.

I hated doing this. But I did it for the achievement more than the cape. Ever since I brought my XBox, my goal on it has been to reach 1000 GS on a game. Never really got round to it. Far to time consuming and never had that time. But last year I had an operation that confined me to bed for weeks. I'd finally found the time. And I chose AC2 as it's one of my favorites, took a while, but finally got the 1000 ;)...
