The best pop song "you send me" ever written and the best vocalist who ever lived , the only time id ever thank god is for people like sam cooke , otis redding, al green , joe tex, john lennon , and a shit load of others if i had to dip into other genres :) i could go on for hours , il stop now
To who wants to find these demo tapes: You can find "I Need You Now" on record. It's the B-side to "Happy In Love". The label number is "Specialty 667". Only 3 copies are on ebay as I'm writing this. When you're on ebay, just type "Sam Cooke Happy In Love" and you'll find it. I'm still searching to find the "You Send Me" demo tape. I will be posting the "I Need You Now" single on my Sam Cooke youtube account. When I upload it, I will post it as a video response to this one. I hope that helps :)
This man had so much pathos in his voice, it sends chills up my spine. He was a credit to his race: The human race. Not only was he a brilliant r&b and pop artist, he may have been the greatest gospel voice to have ever sounded out, which is quite an accomplishment, especially given the awesome talent pool in that genre. His loss was huge, but only because his body of work and his personality were so epic. Sincere gratitude for posting this lost treasure!
@quilicimusic I need you now: In The Beginning Right On 20 Great Hits Only Sixteen - 20 Greatest Hits The Wonderful World of Sam Cooke - 40 Great Memories You Send Me - Starlite (Right On version) Lyrics You send me demo: The sar records story box set.
During the late '50s, Sam Cooke found himself trapped in an interlocking array of recording and publishing contracts that weren't going to take him anywhere. "You Send Me," "You Were Made for Me," "Win Your Love for Me," "I Don't Want to Cry," and "That's All I Need to Know" ended up credited to L.C. Cook in order to prevent them, as Sam Cooke compositions, from falling into the hands of the latter's earlier publishers.

@MsTruthFinder101 He was a singer and songwriter
