  • I won't compare you to Lea Salonga, so I can be fair to you. Your voice is beautiful, and your tone is lovely... there's a very sultry sound in your lower register. You might need to work on some more control, which is always hard even for the pro's anyway, but really, you did this song justice. A bit literal on some of the hand movements, but I love what you did to the song as a whole. There's a clear emotion underneath the delivery. Now, next time try not to "play safe" on the high notes.

  • Very nice voice!

  • I really like your voice, and the song. But such dramatic changes to the original! Your last note doesn't make sense... you could go higher with it. My biggest gripe is how you flatten the "beSI-I-DE me" type notes. Only Lea Salonga can get away with that, and she doesn't always make it sound natural. When it's not natural, it's a gimmick. C'mon, do the given notes. You'll be more believable. And WHY don't people sing this song on a remote mic walking around in sparkly moonlit darkness??

  • Well done.

  • u need more filing, more emotion !!

  • I think I might be unpopular for saying this, but (other than the big notes, which you'd nail with enough practise, I can hear it) I rate your version as good as Lea's. There's just something in her voice...

But neither are as good as my friend Sarah's. She is simple STUNNING in every way tbh :)

  • The art of a great singer is when l believe them and you made me believe you, thanks Pete

  • She should have raised the key slightly higher, her voice is i think too high for her to sing in this, this was written for altos or for sporanos who has a wide range like lea salonga.

  • GOOD JOB!!! Loved your voice~ :)

  • You have a really GOOD voice. But it appears that you're a little hesitant. But who am I to comment =) You have great stage presence btw. Keep it up!

  • I thoguht this was really good :)

  • seriously this is so good!!

  • Do you have some kind of accent? It kind of shows through while you sing. Great rendition, not as good as Lea Salonga's. Keep it up honey! :D

  • I like it quite a lot when you sing this, really :-)

  • Not that good as voice of Lea Salonga

Lea's version is much better than her

She needs more practice and voice lesson

  • woooooow que linda voz tienes, saludos desde Mexico...senti algo extraño cuando te escuche felicidades!!!!

  • this is really good,

but try nd belt the "known" :)

  • very good!

I really love Leah and would not give a compliment unless I meant it!

  • Lea Salonga's version is better..

    But this is good!

  • keep it up!

  • great voice. hearing your "blind", you could have hit the two hi notes. you have to know how to approach, hold and release those big belty notes, Try different techniques in your practice sessions. you can do it--you have the power, control, and voice to do so!!! your beautiful.

  • gwendolyn26,

I enjoyed your performance on this video clip! You clearly are a gifted vocalist.

Your voice is strong, beautiful, and pleasant. You clearly have an excellent ear and skill in mathing pitch.

Your phrasing is very good also.

Thank you for sharing your love of music and singing with me/us!

Are you performing anywhere at this time?

    In which venue?

    William

  • ooh, very nice.

  • Ok, so you decided to play it safe and leave us without the power notes... so what? That is your rendition. Sure, I love Lea's version too, but this is Gwen's. I think your voice is awesome and can't wait to hear some more. Can we find out more about you and your performances? Do you have a site? You sound like you would be great for Jazz Standards and Big Band.

  • Hi there Gwen.... what a beautiful way to see you again after twenty years! I used to date your sister back in the very early 90's.... you are a BRILLIANT singer! Joe

  • hey, fantastic! You've got a fabulous voice-- keep singing!

  • Nice voice & start! "I've only been pretending" and "that I have never known" as per MadiBrk... Yeah I agree too. Nail it like Leah Salonga is doing.

  • nice rendition but no one can take Lea Salonga's performance. Her articulation is just exceedingly awesome. Simply flawless! I heart her for always :)

  • I agree with you completely!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Lea's amazing!!

  • Great song for you but why did you shy away from the 2 power notes in the song?? "I've only been pretending" and "that I have never known" ... sounds like your voice would've NAILED those notes!! Keep up the great singing!

  • I tried but they're a tad high for me and I just couldn't hit them. So I played it safe.

  • @gwendolyn26 I really like that way =)

  • Was this from this year's talent show? If it is I see why you won! And this one is my favorite by far. TXB

  • This is my FAVORITE of your performances, since I was in the audience and you made us all CRY!!! Love Ya!

  • It's a big song. You have a pretty voice and sing it well. This song shows your range better than the standards.

  • Awesome:))

    Hilde

  • Amazing voice. Keep singing.

  • Absolutely brilliant. And who cares if you cracked!? It shows you're human :) xx

  • Lovely voice.
