  • I live in the US and our spiders aren't big but their poisonous like the black widow if you get bit seek medical immediately or you could die

  • lmao, i've just seen one like that in my bedroom, it was the biggest spider i've ever seen. i popped it outside. next time ill keep my bedroom window closed >.> they might not be posionous but they can give you a nasty nip, so ive read lol

They are freakishly fast and always seem to be running towards me!!! :S anyone know what I could do to stop them?

  • @BlockedParty

You could always catch and film them and put it on youtube. The British world record leg span is like 6.5 inches, I caught one that was 5.5 inches once so don't kill them straight away if they are huge, you may be in the record books. I saw you can buy a spray that kills spiders or just use insect powder around the the walls of the house, at the moment we have have woodlice invasion.

  • @BlockedParty hammer time............

  • I stamped on one yesterday, was medium size not as big as this one but still the time is right when they grow big enough to be seen.

  • kids pass me the fucking phone i need to call the police to shoot the fucker down

  • AHHHH OMG?! PUT IT IN THE MICROWAVE!!! URGHHH

  • If I have no choice then I'll stamp on it, but if I have the patience I'll put in the garden.

  • I just puked in my mouth a little.

  • U shouldov killed it

  • UK record is 6 foot hey :-)

  • Great job working up the courage to capture that beast! I hope you won't be seeing too many more!!

  • I got one of this in my room, im scared of spiders but i didnt kill it either, a nice way to keep cocroaches out of my room, i gave him a name, i called him sherlock, my room is insect free xD exepting my fellow sherlock.

  • :l just bafferd on my lap

  • These spiders don't kill but they are not nice either, they move quickly too.

  • holy shit my would got heart attack if she would see something like this kitchen

  • i would get a very big shoe and smush it :) they are nasty

  • get a pelet gun and shoot its legs off

  • How do you killed This spider?

  • I thought this would be that kinda joke where this ghost is appearing and screaming, like in that coffee ad. With a spider like this it would work perectly, trust me. :S

  • Looks like a Hobo Spider

  • god thanks!!! that i dont live in a country where exists big spiders

  • Im scared of all insects,

even those flys that dont even make a buzzing sounds when they fly x]

i just got up and screamed and it fell off :S

  • OMG!!! THat's IT. The arachnophobes' nightmare!!!

  • That's a fairly big one. Looking at it's pedipalps I think this one is male.

  • is it dangerous?

  • don't think so. they can bite you most probably but there is no poison. they just freak you out

  • OMG. A spider like that but twice the size ran up with curtain while I was watching Alexander the other day. I was SO freaked out I went pale because in Ireland they don't get that big!!!!!!

  • I saw something have the size under my Table and i freaked out

  • I live in Holland and I have seen many of those...one time we thought we heard a mouse running in the kitchen..guess what??Right!!Imagine what size that spider was as it made the same noise as a running mouse!!!

The house I live in right now is true horror!!We keep our shoes on and our feet up!!!! Remember the movie??Arachnofobia??I'm living it!!!If you like spiders, feel free to visit!!If you still like them after 2 days, you are a hero! But please take them home with you!!

  • If those are in england then how come i see this same spider in my bedroom all the times? and i live in the USA

  • Huntsman. DIdn't know they were in England,..,,,blaghhhh! I am terrified of these things.

  • No; its a common house spider. And they are harmless.

  • I caught one just like it in my lounge tonight,it couldn't even climb the wall with embossed wallpaper properly. Its now chillin out in a pint glass until i show my kid 2morrow,i may catch a little spider to feed to him!

  • O M G ! I would freak out i would trow everything i find at it from and trow it while im standing on a chair or table!

  • I fucking hate spiders!

  • I think it was reaching the end of its life and had reached its maximum size.

  • That spider is not a ninja at walking on walls is he?

  • Hmm.. I have these in my bedroom all the time... I really do hate them. Its when they run that scares me =\

  • Is that a Tegenaria duellica?

  • Comment removed

  • tegenaria atrica

  • At first it creeps me out when I see these then I think, what? I'm like a mile tall compared to this insect and overcome the fear to being intrigued. Then again diseases are not of size either no matter how big you are.

  • I just saw another one tonight in the Kitchen, I had to stamp on it due to hygene reasons, it would have got away.

  • You cant stop on the one in a viideoyou need liek a gun and some bullets.

  • Thank-You for Your Comment Elsie,We Have Not Quite Conqured our Fear of Spiders,They only seem to come out when its really Hot in the Summer,No Signs of them this Year:-)

  • I couldn't sleep knowing that was in the house!

  • people who aint scared of spiders think arachnaphobes are scared of the venom or danger of death. but its actually the fact that they look fucking huge and freakish LOL

  • I agree with you, my Mum can't understand why I fear them, they just look so leggy, creepy and gross! Mind you she is scared of maggots, and those are no where near as creepy lol

  • I only see them once a year they come out once they get too big and have no where to hide.

  • its a huntsman spider :) theyre harmless and like to hide in cars and houses

  • My husband and I once saw a wolf spider at a park. Its legs would have easily wrapped around the edges of a salad plate. I wish I would have had my camera with me and a quarter for scale.

  • i am an arachnophobia.

    gosshhh! i hate spider!

    i could die!

    *faints*

  • omfg. id have to abandon everything and move to antarctica if i saw that.

  • wow, ich gerade schreiben,daß die spinne nicht echt ist,

    ich nehms zurück

  • yyyyyuuuuueeeee.... ugly brrrryyyy

  • I had one like this in my bedroom, it's leg span was about the size of a CD, was the biggest spider i have ever encountered in england in my 29 years. I was staying at my parents at the time, had to get my step dad to remove it as i was too scared lol

  • i cannot stand looking at spiders! even if it's a tiny one that is completly harmless I squeal and call my dad over to kill it lol

  • I'm getting shivers all over. Ugh gives me bad memories of some spiders I encountered while being in England at my fiancé's... They were so big! Where I live in Canana we only have tiny brown or black spiders... Or those funny looking ones that have a tiny body and long legs. I'm not used to see huge ones.

Ugh I'll have to get over this fear before moving to the UK... *Cries*

  • creepy...

  • hehe, funny video, especially your comments in between...I've beaten my arachnophobia now I just think such spiders look funny.

  • i hate them.....

  • how the hell did it get in there!!!=O.O

  • the 4am in the morning bit had me giggling, as ya know i though it was 4am at night lol.

  • I used to put them outside until I found out they really aren't designed for outside living, so now I just kill them for the sake of a fast painless death. I always say sorry because I really like spiders and don't kill the spiders that are harmless.Amazingly enough these very small skinny spiders in my garage will kill a Hobo if it comes anywhere near their webs. Needless to say I appreciate them and my kids even have names for them. My husband hates it but we just don't care. HA HA

  • Looks like a Hobo. Known as the aggresive house spider. They do bite but it is more like a mosquito bite that turns into a blister-like lesion.I have never been bite, but I don't let my cats play with them.

  • Yes actually I did mean 6inches and I admit that fact is wrong too, I remember reading that the UK record was 6.5'' inches in the Guiness book of world records but once I captured a spider with a 5.5'' legs span which is my own record. May have seen bigger in the past but never captured them.

  • 2 small corrections:

In the video, you said the UK record was 6' for that kind of spider. I think you meant 6", the " indicating inches whereas the ' indicates feet. Unless of course, the record really is 6 feet. We'd be dead D:

And to "ngfxoxo", the M16 designation is without the - . The AR-15 it was based on has the - . It's just a technicality, but you'd be surprised how stupid the Brass gets when it comes to it. Bureaucracy in action, which oddly resembles inaction.

  • ...you need a hammer for this one..

  • If I find a spider that big I usually pick 'em with my hand and I let 'em run all over me lol.

  • I found the same spider in my livingroom ( look at my videoanswer) in germany. what is this for a spider i found much biger one realy big spider for europe its scary

  • I let it out in the Garden in the end the next day. But have had to kill some due to not having the time to catch them and go out at night, because I don't want my nephews sitting one day having one crawl up them. Also for hygene purposes, if the timing is not right I would have to kill it, but if I find a really big one, I'll film it and catch it probably. They are can get big, I had one next to my bed leg once, I could here it crawling about at night and was bigger than the one in this video.

  • BLAGHHHH I am told in the UK you all will be treated to more and more of these beasts with global warming. I had these in Hawaii, and no way could I have stood there and filmed it; I would have been running down the street screaming for someone to bring an M-16 and come kill it. I hate spiders. (What did you do with it anyway?)

  • This is a common housespider they can have 6inche leg spans fully grown. So they can be mosters realy because you only see them once a year once they out grow them selves and can not walk up walls anymore.

  • I love spiders like that, I usually pick 'em up :)

  • That looks a bit like what just crawled under my bed. Is it poisonous. I'm a bit scared and I don't want to go to sleep with it under there.

  • Oh no, i thought we Uk didn't get big spiders like that. now i gotta be scared all the time D:

  • I live in Kent. Today i killed 2 spiders which looked quite similar to the one on the video. They were totally disgusting: really big, black and a bit hairy. Trying to find out what species are they.Any ideas???

  • We have a garden and so do the neighbours, I guess its a small country side for spiders. We have anotherone in the house, once I catch it I will video it for you. That is if your interested, not sure why people would be, guess its nature.

  • do u live in the country or somthing, cuz i get those spiders in my house up state, and i hear crickets in back

  • It's not the biggest spider on Youtube, but for England it's pretty impressive species, I have seen bigger spiders in my life time at home, but only see them once a year at this size.

  • I HATE HATE HATE SPIDERS >:[

one day ill make it go EXTINCT!!

    MUHAHAHA! :B

  • i do not care if i have this spider in my house! i just care if its a black widdow or a tarantala. 1612198521=right!omg! i just wrote 345 leters!lol ! ps:thats not so big!

  • Yesterday an ugly spider decided to crawl down my arm when I was watching TV. Was not very nice.

  • OMFG I DONT KNOW HOW IM GOING TO SURVIVE WHEN IM OLDER - living in my own house and i see one of these guys im running for the hills forget the mortgage lol

  • It probably looks bigger than it seems, these are harmful spiders and are more worried about people and only come out when its quiet.

But not bad for a cold country like England, the hairs on their legs must keep them warm.

  • WOW

that thing makes the spider in my video look like an ant

i am terrified of spiders they have way to many legs for me to handel

i would have died if i saw that sucker

    ahhhhh

  • what did u do with it? did u leave it or let it out? omg, if that was me i would move!! lol, hate them! makes our spiders seem like specs of dust!

  • thats not a big spider

  • UK spides are odd, they either come in tiny sizes or like this one to a giant leap in size with this common house spider which over grow and get caught. You don't have ones in beween this size that often. Every year I find one or two of these about, one was next to my bed this size, I could hear it crawling on it's web lucky I found it, gives me the creeps.

  • Bless your heart. It makes our spiders seem like ants. Gracious!

  • it gives me the creeps just looking at it!

  • You should see it on the big TV, it has hairs on it.

  • Noooo! i hate hairy spiders!
