I'm an atheist that foregiveness is good to a point. It shouldn't be granted unconditionally. Under this belief, the victim could be revictimized if she doesn't forgive some heinous criminal who raped and killed her daughter. This is the problem I have with Chrisitian fundamentalists — they interpret a 2,000 year-old book literally. Still, I encourage believers and unbelievers to read Ms. Alonzo's book because it is well written and is a skillful true crime story that we can all learn from.

@beauteediva1 hey brother, as a Roman Catholic I only and always pray to Jesus Christ, however being ever mindful of God the Father and the Holy Ghost. I have never and will never pray to saints or archangels. I have been raised Catholic all my life but have felt it is wrong to pray to saints and angels I sometimes also question praying to Mary, i.e Haily Mary. I dont think that the words from the Pope or the Archdioses are infallible, they are mortal men after all.

The New Testament doesn't teach that we can disregard Jesus' commands so that we can "protect" our families. It is not there, even by extension. You won't find one instance of unrebuked physical retaliation in the New Testament. Matthew 5:38-48, Luke 6:40

The New Testament doesn't teach that we can disregard Jesus' commands so that we can "protect" our families. It is not there, even by extension. You won't find one instance of unrebuked physical retaliation in the New Testament. Matthew 5:38-48, Luke 6:40
Request a free book from tortured for Christ dot com. Also, look up fellowship of the martyrs. You will read about people who were willing to be just as extreme as the apostles in their witness of surrender to Love. Bless you.

@jenacyde79 I am a Latter-day Saint Christian. We too believe in defending our families even if it means unto bloodshed...self-defensde in other words. It is a scripture found in The Book of Mormon, Alma 43:47 says: And again, the Lord has said that: Ye shall adefend your families even unto bloodshed. Therefore for this cause were the Nephites contending with the Lamanites, to defend themselves, and their families, and their lands, their country, and their rights, and their religion.

I do believe it to be a book of scripture and would like to thank you for the opportunity to testify of it. Romans 14 is a fascinating chapter of the New Testament. If the world read and applied it, the world we live in would be a very different place. Thanks.
