Ah yes, there's always some snob waiting to deliver a put-down. Free pouring is great, but like most things, it's the end result that matters. This is a nice technique that I'll add to my repertoire.
I hope that the people complaining that it's not a free pour only listen to live music. Studios are cheating. So is using the delete key -- better to type perfectly.
um I think it's still really cool even if you didn't pour the hearts. you won't get that "chasing" effect if you don't pour them. Plus: they look more like leaves this way! :)
i agree with the sperm comment. the coffee looks unsealed and if you poured properly you won't have to blob the froth on top and use something to create the sperm... i mean heart.

You have to keep your pitcher a bit higher, than all the milk and foam will go under crema.
