  • Well, I particularly enjoyed the onboard weapons storage facility for the Thin Man's Energized Quantum Phase Carbine - that is to say: a nail in the wall.

    2:22

  • @DaveBTHunt HaHa.. a nail in the wall.....these aliens are so technically advanced...and to think when we watched this as kids we were probably quite scared !!!!!!!!!!!

  • @malcy34 Haha! "Scared"? Wow, "scared" doesn't even come close to what I remember experiencing whenever that Thin dude showed his face - more like a state of catatonic paralysis....I LOVED it!

Seems to me a lot of 70's childrens TV was either bizarre, terrifying or psychedelic and consciousness-expanding - and it was all the better for it!

A kid had to really be made of solid stuff to make it through the '70's - need I remind you about some of those public information films?! Good grief!..

  • @DaveBTHunt ahh those public information films.......charlie the cat.......but the one that used to get me was tuffty the squirrel...you always knew one the characters was going to knocked over or something....and you would just sit there....waiting for it....back to the bot from space..maybe we should make our kids watch it..then when the're naughty......" behave or the thin man will come and get you...!!.."

  • @malcy34 Ha! Yes, Charlie and his weirdo kid owner.....scarier than the pedo they were warning us about. And Tufty! Arrrgh! The ones that chilled my core were something about a bunch of kids fooling about on a dump or bomb-site [I can't even believe I'm writing those words, can you imagine such a thing now? and that bomb-sites existed!] and one of them getting trapped in a fridge! And another about electricity sub-stations and some kid getting fried! They worked. I never went near either.

  • @malcy34 And you couldn't possibly have kids watch those now, it'd be child abuse! At least *we* could go out in the street, or the park, or the 'venture playground and dangerously play the traumas out. What's a kid gonna do now after watching that terror? Go in their room and play GTA? They's end up total crackpots!

Like I said, a '70's kid had to be tough as a Tonka toy and anyone who made it through is case-hardened..... our kids don't even know what kind of heroes we really are.

  • @malcy34 Christ, I only found the very bastard on here? watch?v=Y-yGTrd4Z7I

Aaah, the memories [by which I mean jerky night-terrors and cold-sweats] all come flooding back. Gotta love youtube - "JIMMYYYYYYYY!!!!......."

  • @DaveBTHunt JIMMYYYYYYYY.....haha...its the music at the start..that sets the scene for me...has me right on edge of my seat......i bet there some european ruling now stopping those from being shown...i cxan rememeber at school as well we had a video about trespassing on the railways.....some kids crossing the lines and one kids gets his foot stuck some how....just as a train comes....i was glad to get home that day...

  • They dont make them like they used to ....hope you showed or will show your 3kids also.

  • WOW this takes me back, 38 years old and have watched all the episodes!!!!! Fascinating, childhood memories
