@chinchillawrangler Thats right. the BOSS has 11.5 compression and will not be getting a super charger from Ford. I just got my BOSS LS # 469 a week ago. Completely different car then my Super Snake.
@chinchillawrangler If your looking for a boosted car and reliable you should get a Shelby GT 500. Trying to make a boss something its not really isn't the way. The factory stock mustangs live very well and even with most bolt ons. I'm not a big fan of installing turbos or super charges on a car not sold with it from the factory. Just go get the right car to start with. Just my thoughts..

Who would pay 83,000 for a Mustang? Its still a Mustang. For that much you could buy a real muscle car classic from the 60s-70s instead of "kit-car" Mustang
@SOFSoldier1 Trust me my old FORDS still have there place, but you can't compare any old car to this kind of a machine. You can cruise all day at almost 20 MPG, and run low 11 s in the 1/4 mile, then make a 2.26 lap at Sebring or run 186MPH in the Texas Mile. You can only do this with just a few cars all made in recent years. This IS NO KIT CAR!!!!!!

In '07 Ford dealers were gouging $40K over list for the new GT500 ($85-90K ), trying to profit even more on the Shelby name. Now you can buy a used one for $32K. You call that a collectible classic?
@cheaniggachea I used Vettes as an example because the same rules apply. Moreover, the good aftermarket tuners are using the same parts (blowers, heads, brakes, etc) as Shelby, Roush and Saleen. It's all about the warranty and quality of the work. A base Mustang GT tuned by a reputable tuner will be as fast, powerful and reliable as a Shelby for under $50K. I've seen it done time and time again.

A 2011 base GT with optional Bremo brake package ( $1695) already has suspension parts from the GT500 (control arms, sways, shocks) For 12K (or less) you can have a Whipple supercharger, INSTALLED, and power will range from 625 to 700 depending on tuning, type of headers, injectors, etc. All for for LESS than 50K. A GT so equipped will NOT get smoked by a $90K plus Supersnake. Check Whipple GT vids on Youtube, then get back to me.

@Snake12347 Yes, I checked it out and it's got huge balls and looks badass! But at what price? $100K? With 700 it'll be marginally faster than a regular Shelby to 120 mph due to traction issues. To me the base GT is the best muscle car performance bargain on the planet, and I'm not even a Mustang guy. Throw in another 12K and there's your Supersnake!

@makstone I think the Super Snake is running at 75k or so? I'll have to double check, but that number's jumping out at me :P I definitely agree that the 5.0 is the best car for the value. It just DESTROYS the Camaro and the Challenger. And it's cheap! No argues on that end :)

@makstone obviously shelby is not the only tuner thats good, there is roush and saleen. and why are you talking about corvettes anyway, this has nothing to do with them. this has to do with buying a shelby because its a shelby and therefore paying top dollar. yes you can get custom tuning shops to raise your hp towards the 700 range, but once you tune your car with them you loose resale value and, believe it or not, reliability. you buy a shelby because its a collector car that will gain value

@cheaniggachea Dude, are you Shelby's nephew or something? Recent model Shelbys DO NOT gain value and wont for the forseeable future. Mustangs that are worth more than original list are like most classic cars..they are RARE, had a limited production run. In '07 Ford dealers were gouging $40K over list for the new GT500 ($85-90K ), trying to profit even more on the Shelby name. Now you can buy a used one for $32K. You call that a collectible classic?

@cheaniggachea I used Vettes as an example because the same rules apply. Moreover, the good aftermarket tuners are using the same parts (blowers, heads, brakes, etc) as Shelby, Roush and Saleen. It's all about the warranty and quality of the work. A base Mustang GT tuned by a reputable tuner will be as fast, powerful and reliable as a Shelby for under $50K. I've seen it done time and time again.

@sallythestang20 Dude, re-read my post.. Im talking about all of the Mustangs that Shelby has put his name on in the last 10 years...overweight and overpriced. I also said the Supersnake is nice, but not worth $90K. And by the way, 700 hp means nothing if you cant get power to the ground, so it wont be much faster 0-60 and 1/4 mile than a GT500.

@makstone The new Shelby cobra I read will see an upwards of 600 HP. That would be 200 HP over the base model V8, 300 over the base V6.
Also In that time the basic Shelby cobra had ~500hp and the stock GT had ~300 soooooo, 10 more grand for 200 more horsepower.
I'm not saying I don't agree with you to a certain extent (For 95k I want 700 Hp and 30 mpg lol) But I wouldn't ever say Ford is ripping people off.

One of the the best deals on the planet is the new Stang GT, and I'm not even a Ford guy. For the price of a new GT with the track package plus $12-15K in mods, I would smoke a new overpriced Snake!

A 2011 base GT with optional Bremo brake package ( $1695) already has suspension parts from the GT500 (control arms, sways, shocks) For 12K (or less) you can have a Whipple supercharger, INSTALLED, and power will range from 625 to 700 depending on tuning, type of headers, injectors, etc. All for for LESS than 50K. A GT so equipped will NOT get smoked by a $90K plus Supersnake. Check Whipple GT vids on Youtube, then get back to me.

Most people wouldn't consider the Super Snake to be a super car, but it most definitely is. It's also a muscle car. Either car can fit into either category

This car is really awesome. I am glad I could film it for real - with the "POLICE" writing on it like in Transformers movie. Here in Germany it is allowed to write it on as its English ;-)
