I'm an old guy and I had the privilege of growing up with Evangelion in the 90's but this this is not Evengelion is a lousy attempt of a remake and b4 you bash do a research you will find out is a remake, one that His original creator hates, plus they are changing a whole lot of things in the series, including the ending and movies. I would much rather had prefer they would had left this masterpiece of animation alone
i don't know where you got that information, but Hideaki Anno is the sole writer for the movies, as well as a producer /director. i find it hard to believe that he hates the remake movies. the whole point is not to do a shot-for-shot remake of the series but make something new. i don't understand why that's such a bad thing, we still have the original series, and then we also have this. both have their strengths/ weaknesses. this doesn't replace the original, so don't worry about it

Your probably saying to yourself how theres a Rei from EoE, well the answer is that the Giant Rei can send Clones before and after it was Born/destroyed.
Need more explanation? There is a clone Rei appearing in beggining of series & one on the beach of EoE and at both of those times Rei is either dead or hospitalized
there was no giant rei in the beginning of evangelion, it only existed at the end during the instrumentality. That clone was from the dummy plug system.

The implication seems to be that when Rei fused with Adam and Lilith, she became some kind of goddess who was able to transcend time. Even after 'Reilith' died when Shinji rejected Instrumentality, Rei still appeared at the end. Rei also appears before Misato and Ritsuko even before she fused.

Shinji was the new Adam and Asuka was the new Eve, so Shinji got to have some fun repopulating the human race. Things will be inevitiably different now because everyone is descendant from Shinji and Asuka, and not the original Adam and Rei. This changes instrumentality quite a bit.

for those who were wondering: this series of movies is a remake of the series. Higher quality, battles were redone I think, parts the animators got lazy about were fixed, generally the same exact plot but some new characters in the second movie in the series evangelion 2.0 or the third one, I'm not sure.

It actually made me look up the manga series and find a second more official...plot twist? where Angels possess humans and Shinji, Rei, Asuka, and uhhh, the Homo Angel(The good angel?) are working together to fight them. Although it's different, all the characters stay, even his dad who happens to hold an even greater secret then this series. Also there was a professional fanmade version where Asuka and Shinji become Adam/Eve.
Adam and Eve, in Religous terms they were the first two humans to exist. God had given them only one rule, and that was for the two to never eat from an apple tree. They promised God that they would never eat an apple from the tree as long as they live, and so they lived within a Utopia, where Adam and Eve were the only ones to roam. But in time a dark force came known as the devil who persuaded Adam to eat an apple. God punished them to live on Earth, and so they were the beginning.
After the third impact Shinji created a perfect world, closest to what heaven was thought up to be at the given time. Although this world was perfect Shinji stayed behind on Earth as punishment because he believed everything was his fault. The manga tells of Asuka and Rei talking to each other, and Rei allowing Asuka to go back to Earth with Shinji as guidance. Asuka chooses to go back to Earth, and spends their time on Earth where they pretty much have to live with each other.

@kamikrazi123 It's a re-visioning with a slightly varying storyline and much higher quality animation. At the end of the series, the animation budget was very low, a lot of footage was re-used, this is basically remaking the series with better animation with small changes

Evangelion 2.0 isn't coming out on DVD for a while. Not in the U.S., anyway. It's coming out in Japan on May 26th. That release date doesn't count for me, though, because I don't speak a word of Japanese and the Japanese release won't include English subtitles (and I slightly prefer the dub, anyway). But hey, if you can speak Japanese, prefer the Japanese version, and have a region-free DVD player (or you could get the Blu-Ray since there's no region code difference for those)...then go for it.

Well, I guess, but that doesn't count for me either because I'm huge anti-fansubbing. I used to watch downloaded/uploaded and fansubbed anime a lot, but then I dug into it a little bit and I was shocked to find out how badly the business was doing thanks to those things, so I haven't watched anything illegal since (with the exception of certain clips of stuff that I already own on DVD, and only for the sake of discussion).
This is going to be an interesting project. Eva was one of my favorite anime's a few years ago, these new projects just may be enough to get me interested in the series again. As far as the voice acting argument goes, I'm leaning towards the English acting. Shinji' s voice in Japanese really doesn't match his personality. I thought that the English version portrayed Shinji a lot better. Either way, I look forward to the new releases!

Adam and Eve, in Religous terms they were the first two humans to exist. God had given them only one rule, and that was for the two to never eat from an apple tree. They promised God that they would never eat an apple from the tree as long as they live, and so they lived within a Utopia, where Adam and Eve were the only ones to roam. But in time a dark force came known as the devil who persuaded Adam to eat an apple. God punished them to live on Earth, and so they were the beginning.

After the third impact Shinji created a perfect world, closest to what heaven was thought up to be at the given time. Although this world was perfect Shinji stayed behind on Earth as punishment because he believed everything was his fault. The manga tells of Asuka and Rei talking to each other, and Rei allowing Asuka to go back to Earth with Shinji as guidance. Asuka chooses to go back to Earth, and spends their time on Earth where they pretty much have to live with each other.

@Rezindez Then they planned to travel to Germany, as Shinji can't bare to look at Japan anymore at it's state. So they travel around for over a year until they reach Germany, from that point they use a sorta ecosphere to use as their home from whence they are the first two on Earth again, and begin to create life as it once was in a new beginning.

@kamikrazi123 It's a re-visioning with a slightly varying storyline and much higher quality animation. At the end of the series, the animation budget was very low, a lot of footage was re-used, this is basically remaking the series with better animation with small changes

They didn't go into that much detail, I'm guessing megatons. I always thought that N2 kinda stood for Nuclear 2, like the next generation of nuclear weapons so twice as powerful as anything we have today. But hey, its only an anime lol.

For god sake the Funimation crews is lying to us all.This is NOT 1.01 but this is 1.0.Diference is 1.01 is the improve version of 1.0 but the weakness is 1.01 has the darkness issues to the graphics quality.That mean 1.0 has better graphics quality than 1.0.Funimation claim to us that the preview that they put was 1.01 but actually it from 1.0.They are try to trick us by buying the DVD but actually the quality is not the same as the video that they showing to us.

Evangelion 2.0 isn't coming out on DVD for a while. Not in the U.S., anyway. It's coming out in Japan on May 26th. That release date doesn't count for me, though, because I don't speak a word of Japanese and the Japanese release won't include English subtitles (and I slightly prefer the dub, anyway). But hey, if you can speak Japanese, prefer the Japanese version, and have a region-free DVD player (or you could get the Blu-Ray since there's no region code difference for those)...then go for it.

Well, I guess, but that doesn't count for me either because I'm huge anti-fansubbing. I used to watch downloaded/uploaded and fansubbed anime a lot, but then I dug into it a little bit and I was shocked to find out how badly the business was doing thanks to those things, so I haven't watched anything illegal since (with the exception of certain clips of stuff that I already own on DVD, and only for the sake of discussion).

This is going to be an interesting project. Eva was one of my favorite anime's a few years ago, these new projects just may be enough to get me interested in the series again. As far as the voice acting argument goes, I'm leaning towards the English acting. Shinji' s voice in Japanese really doesn't match his personality. I thought that the English version portrayed Shinji a lot better. Either way, I look forward to the new releases!
