a lot of lesbians stick to stereotypes of society cuz they are to scared to be them selves in fear of coming across as less than a stud or femme... i have been saying for years that u dont have to behave or want to be a man/boi to be stud...#getoveritpeople
these roles have helped you as well. you say ur wife mows that lawn. i dont know of any fem that wants to get sweaty and dirty mowing the lawn...and im sure ur not a fan of taking the trash out. succumbing to these roles arent always a bad thing.
@dypherent3000 I actually like mowing the lawn. My wife won't let me do it. I actually like taking out the trash. I do it from time to time. I think you are right. See, it goes too far when she say stuff like you ain't suppossed to be doin that. I say says who? So, at the end of the day, if there is a balance it'd cool. Cuz stud and femme are like man and woman sometimes. For the most part I don't mind.
as much as you want to say you have a problem with heterosexual stereotypes it has worked for the gay community to an extent...fems have certain expectations of studs and studs have certain expectations of fems... the things studs do may work out for their masculinity and how they feel abt themselves and the same thing for fems. whats wrong with that? yes it can be taken too far...i can say that. but me being a stud i dont mind my gf expecting me to take the trash out.
Reading down the comments, Sarkazz is right on the money. Her comment is probably the closest to the truth...it's kind of a sort of "ignorance" but with out the negative connotation, straight people don't run out and buy books on lesbian relationships every day, and our community can be a bit hostile (as we know from how hostile we can be to one another!), especially to str8's...we seem to think that they outta just "get it" and not be curious, or be forced to draw from their own environment.
You are the first person I would ever ask about kids and this kind of stuff! Your relationship dynamic seems to work very awesomely with you two! And your kids are so damned CUTE and you are a great Mom. This is a GREAT topic. I never thought of what role race may play in how the public views us as butch/stud - femme couples...VERY interesting. I may do a video like this with my views, and I'll be referring back to this video for sure while I am doing it. Rolls are for hot dogs in the house!
If it is something they both strive for, I don't mind lesbians or gay men following heterosexual rolls. As long as they don't demand the same as me. We get enough crap from bigoted heterosexuals, we don't need it from our own.
I hate heteronormativity in the black lesbian community. I'm queer! Not femme or stud or even stem. I'm QUEER and love all that twisted, complicated loveliness. I only want to be with someone who's like that too.
THE TRUTH>>>"your still a woman"

That's so funny, I never would of known lesbians get set gender roles like that! Lol. This is very informative for anyone, thank you!
