I love her , great vocals! She did a little mashup of the orginal lyrics from Pink's "Sober". Aahh, the night is calling I stayed up again Oohh, I am finding That's not the way I want my story to end I'm safe Up high Nothing can touch me But why do I feel this party's over? No pain Inside You're like perfection But how do I feel this good sober?
she has pretty eyes lol. but anyway. this is sweet. is there software that can do something like this? melodyne seems time-consuming still. i'm still studying vocal harmonies mainly backstreet boys type and it seems confusing.. but now after watching this i sorta feel like harmonies are.... theoretical....?
Great cover of a Pink song. Sheena Loza normally sings gospel at Churches in Cali. This device is better suited for someone like her, singing the styles that she does. I don't see myself as a male vocalist needing something with a Gregorian Choir nor a Kids Choir. Seems like $500 I could use towards something else
@dizzygunner Maybe because a lot of good singers would cost a lot more than this device, maybe you're doing a small acoustic gig that doesn't have the space or money for a lot of extra vocalists just hanging out, etc etc etc.
I would imagine that Prodyon's Enchoir VST is far more powerful, and MUCH cheaper than this (I don't know how much it is, because I got it free as part of the 'Prodyon for Life' package, which I bought for a song years ago.)
beautiful tool in the right hands. well done roland! but yah really could've put a little more vocoder inside. i mean, yah know everyone just wants a vp330 that doesnt cost $2k used.
Effects mix is too hot and the sound isn't any better than my old Digitech Vocalist, which works great when you use it sparingly and not up front. I'm surprised- Roland's 'ears' are usually better than this.
Wow, the people essentially yelling "no effects!" must have huge budgets to work with, an infinite pool of willing vocalists to tag along, and huge stages to play where ever they go. Stop deluding yourself. This is another tool for your suitcase full of widgets, practical for some applications, and impractical for others.
Thats a neat device, but I don't think this will be used in professional studio's they will have real back up singers. For the millions of home studios and people who don't know how to harmonize, this will be a good gadget.
don't be so cocky and arrogant. if you are so much into 'real' music, then why don't you hire a whole orchestra instead of emulating instruments with your keyboards. and while you are at it, why don't you just go back to a full-hardware multi-track analog studio instead of using pro tools/cubase and other software sequencers and vsts...get real analog synths, don't buy digital.
lol you arrogant 'musicians' make me sick.
i like vp7 it does a good job but TC helicon is better
@lavakava what the F is wrong with you. Just because I think that pro studios will not use this does not mean I am arrogant. I fail to even see how that qualifies as arrogant.
i don't think this takes jobs away from back ups. i mean shit, the day that roland makes a machine that can generate intelligent harmonies of of someone's voice and make those harmonies sing different lyrics is the day that back up singers are done for. side note: she sang that so much better than pink.
shitty will never sound good. but it will sound better. most rock music singers (bono of U2, joe elliot of def leppard, bryan adams, iron maiden, etc...) sound like crap with their live voice when they sing next to luciano pavarotti or a classic indian vocalist with excellent vocal vibratos and manipulations.
everything is relative, so be careful who you bash. a classic karnatic-music trained indian vocalist will scoff at even 'great' vocalists like rihanna. EVERYTHING IS RELATIVE
Yeah, I agree. This won't take away musicians' jobs because real musicians really are better than those machines. But it will give people more options, when they can't hire live musicians, for instance.
I'm not too sure that this will have a good impact on the Music Industry. I mean, wheres all the talent going to go? Shal we just hide in our Offices, while we let the computers make our music!!
It's about time that Analog Synthesizers made a re-appearance too. Surely we've catered for the Stage Musician enough by now? They MORe than enough Stage Synths out the now with the Piano, Organ, & Strings Patches?
So can we get back on track now with Proper Synths?!?

i find with Roland products that it's not just specs or included features
but it's more about the usability of the machines... they are very well designed
the thoughtful layouts also transfer across the product line....
i can sit down with any Roland product and begin making music immediately
in my humble opinion they make first class gear

Sigh. Tired, invalid argument, folks. People have been double tracking since the invention of the multi-track recorder.
I's see it as very effective for creating song demos as well.

just another tool to make the shitty sound good and take jobs away from musicians - in this case, back-up singers.

I can see this being useful for live performance for bands without the capacity to have back up singer's.
