Eventually you learn the pattern and you can just keep doing several flowers without doing a star every other flower and you can keep doing flowers the whole time that's when you master control

So when I try to do a flower or star, they almost always start to just spin around in a small circle, but not doing any flower or star, just spinning. Then I cant get it to wind up again, because it has slowed down so much. Halp!

un tape the color lights and use cire cutters on the lights with some of the prong left and stick that bad boy in your inovas and bammm

I know the strings are there but the string on each side is double loop. If you check out his other video how to make orbit light you will understand. I'm talking about during 3:30-3:40 you see this double loop on each side is splited.. I'm not sure if that just webcam delay or skill you need to create the circle shapes he's doing. Maybe Wobertwee can answer this better.. btw, Wobertwee I might have bumped into one in teh past @ Red. ;D

That double loop is just an illusion due to the slow frame rate of the cam. At that point the string is fully wound up on both sides.

With a 2 strings on each side you can actually start it from a stopped position if its vertical, have you tried that?
