  • Dang that was awesome bro! Thanks for sharing!

  • @rufec12 Thanks bro! This was the 1st time I ever saw them do this!

  • so is this every time it has a dpu, when it comes to austell.?

  • @JgordonAmtrak1 I wouldn't say 'every' time, but about 75% of the time. Sometimes they send the GP units down there and 'tow' it back to Whitaker...remember the video of the GP units coupling to the ACe?

  • yep!

  • why is it going backwards?

  • @Jatt1998 It was the DPU on 226 so they used it for the power and they split the train and this part went to the yard just down the way, while the other half went to Atlanta.

  • No possible way that it could fit entirely into Whittaker, not a big yard.

Love those international stacktrains, Hanjin containers YEAH!

  • They have 2 extra long tracks that circle the yard plus the space on the 2nd mainline that ends about a mile past Whittaker...

  • 5*'s and a favorite, great video.

  • Thanks! This is one of my personal favorites also...to see that single SD70ACe pull this giant train!

  • woah, That is bringing back memories of Long hood forward action.

  • Very cool Yes!

  • Great catch! Flashback to the old long hood forward days.

  • Thanks! Yep I remember those days well.

  • one engine for that long train.WOW.great horn too.

  • For sure! Wow!

  • wow... lol nice catch!

  • Thanks!

  • thats some great horn action

  • I really like the horns on these and the SD70M-2's a lot!

  • wow that's amazing!!

a tribute to SD power & the skill/patience of the engineer

    awesome catch!!

im still having trouble believing what i just saw lol

  • I was shocked also to see that one unit pull all those cars...

  • Wow! Now that's an amazing sight to see right there. Great catch & video Gene 5*****.& Favorite for sure.

  • Dude, I was in shock to see that long of a train behind that single unit...

  • nice 1 engine lol wow i bet it feels akward in the engine in reverse drive.

  • UP almost NEVER runs LHF they dont need em but since they dont have em they have to run resticted speed

  • That train was just a transfer from Atl to Whittaker yard...not sure why they 'tested' the single SD70ACe's power alone like that, but it prevailed...try that with a single Dash9...

  • NICEEEEEEEEEEE

  • Yea they should, but it's probably very rare to run one 'backwards' like this...Thanks Bro!

  • Dude how can 1 SD70ACE pull an entire train like that!?!?!?! Union Pacific Stack trains by me have at least 3+ engines on them.

Also I have lived by UP track for years and I have never once seen a UP engine lead an entire train long hood foreward, let alone only 1 engine leading the entire train.

This is quite an amazing catch!!!!

  • Dude! I don't know but it sure did pull it! That's a fact!

  • This video totally amazes me. Never would I expect to see 1 engine pull a train of that length.

  • Wow, looks like it would be a safety issue to run an engine like this long nose foward (because of visibility).... probably just going a limited distance wouldn't you think?? Those SD70ACe's can hunker down and put out some real power, huh??!!!-- that's a MASSIVE ole train there!!

  • Nah, they can see fairly well from there...yea apparently they DO have a lot of power!

  • very nice catch 5 stars and a favortie

  • Thanks Mike!
